My whole bag is Adams XTD except for my driver, putter and lob wedge. Love that you can get the same club all the way to lob wedge if you want. Mine are 4-S with the stock C-taper 120 in stiff with the stock Iomic grips and love everything about the whole stock set up. They set up great at address. The technology is concealed really well but it's definitely there and miss hits are not punished much but feedback is there so you know where on the face you missed. My scores have been consistently lower since switching from Cobra Amp Cell forged. Gonna be hard to replace.
What shaft did you have in the Amp cell? Any distance gains? Trajectory appropriate?

Tour s+ in the AF. Lost a few yards due to the Adams being a tiny bit weaker and ball flight is a tiny bit lower with the C tapers but much more consistent direction wise.

BTW mine look great still.

Just some random thoughts.....only in the 3 iron head but I've shafted it up with Nippon 1150 tour and 1/2" over...Lamkin crossline full cord midsize......high,long and workable! Others will arrive on Tuesday. ....more thoughts for Wednesday's round.....S55 and AP2's had a love child. ...Adams XTD Forged irons! Yum.....

Changed grips from lamkin midsize to std with 3 wraps.....got the full set and added puglielli black forged wedges 52/56/60.....

Nippon 1150 are 3/4" over to maintain sw....normally play 1/2" over.....trajectory is mid-high but boring.

Saved a ton of cash with this setup plus it fits my needs to a tee! Pun intended

Over a month since last post.......went into local pgatss to hit mp25's and 716CB's. ...I knew that I would order a set of 716CB's. .......Lee Corso "not so fast my friend" absolutely no need to switch other than switching itself.

The XTD FORGED : keeping this content since 2015!

Other the shiny bling new factor, I'm so happy to actually save money by not spending on lateral gear. ......maybe a shaft or definitely grips but I can't see these being replaced.

More to come...

I got a great deal on these XTD Forged and after this season I am thinking they are safe in 2016, we'll see.
Have you hit anything else? Do you find them forgiving enough? Is there something you don't like?
I think there's no magic in any irons but these heads are:

1. Small (smaller than AP2s).
2. Have tungsten and slots which make the small heads more forgiving on toe/thin misses.
3. Very neutral (no draw/fade biases).

Kinda "most forgiving player's CB" IMO. And it's a progressive set so 8 and below are more MB-like.

TM M3 3W Matrix Ozik HD6 S

TM M4 Rescue 3

I keep trying to 'ho another set of irons but can't find anything that has it all like these. Even the stock grips are excellent! I found myself changing my woods to Iomics.

I do have non-stock shafts/grips but still.....nothing has this much technology in a compact, forged product! We'll start our own fan club with this thread; checking in periodically to exude the greatness of XTD!

Hit the demo xtd 6 iron at golf town a while back and was impressed.
Bought a set online when the priced dropped below 300.
Made the mistake hitting these on the same day i was trying out my Cobra s3 pros I picked up at the same time.
The Adams say forged on them but feel wise compared to the Cobras they felt like I was hitting rocks not marshmallows.
I quickly put the adams up for sale.
After not even an enquiry they sat in my garage for months.
I tried them out again later on and they were just alright.
Dropped the price to 250 [they were still 1100 at golf town] and six months later i finally have someone interested.

Talked to the boys at golf town and they said they can't give them away either. 899 now at gt
Adams put a lot of time and research and didn't spare the expense on the xtd, high end shafts and grips and they still couldn't sell em.
Kinda sad in a way.
If these said tailor-made on them they would have sold thousands of sets.
Glad to read a few guys got along with these under rated set.

I've hit them in stock dressing and they came alive with Nippon shafts.

I was at my local pga store yesterday and saw the adams xtd forged irons in the clearance section for $229.
It looked like the clubs 5-PW were never used(KBS tour stiff shaft)
So i took a pitching wedge and a 7 iron to the virtual hitting bay
my carry distance were 115 PW and 160 7 iron.
Very nice feel with this club
Im starting to shoot in the low 80's now and may decide to move to a forged club.
Just curious what are the advantages of playing with forged irons?

You get to wonder how people can play with inferior cast irons. You finally get to join in about hot spots and voids. Though you will still get looked down upon by people with blades so watch it.

Seriously though not much though they look cooler. I was playing super gi (callaway diablo edge), started shooting in the low 80's. Decided I needed better player clubs.........scores haven't changed much. Though my clubs look much better :P.

For me it's part forged and part size.....don't like larger clubs ,thicker toplines or wide/chunky soles....forged usually feels better but not always......these have a balance to them that other sets wish for....lefty here and anything in the player's category I've hit....the new mp25, 716CB's etc etc.....are all lateral moves AT BEST! Mine have different shaft than stock however which can make all the difference. YMMV but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by this guy!

Oh don't mistake my tongue in cheek post about forged clubs as a diss about XTD forged . I own a set and most likely will be gaming them next year. They are hands down the best value set of the past year. It is ridiculous how good they are for the price. I mean look at the review when they came out.

Oh no.....completely saw the wrx-like fictitious statement. ....lol.....and if you read anymore of the thread, Adams took a great product but priced themselves out the running for sales purposes. Oh well, our gain!

I have played a few rounds with mine and I honestly love them. A little clicky for a forged iron but I expected that and would sacrifice feel for performance any day. The set blends beautifully, every club looks awesome to my eye, unlike some sets with a PW that looks off compared to the other clubs. Just a smidge bigger than a blade and a tiny bit of forgiveness on the longer irons. For the low prices you can find them for nowadays I would definitely give em a shot.
These seem to be the factors that are drawing me in......just bought a set 4-gw with Rip Tour 115g graphite shafts! Arrive Wednesday!
Same things suckered me in too! I've really enjoyed my time with my MP 68's (spent over a full season with them - an eternity for me), but wanted something (shaft-wise) a bit easier on my joints and a bit more forgiving overall. These look beautiful and I'm excited to try the RIP Tour 115 Graphite shafts (coming from S300 in my 68's). Snagged a set of the XTD Forged (new) off the bay last night for just under $200. MP 68's are officially on the BST!

I have had these in the bag for 3 years with Nippon Pro Mod 120S shafts. The combination works great for me and I would think be changing anytime soon. Had Mizuno MX23's before that.
