Another great round of golf with these balls! Soft feel, and a bit of bite on full shots.

I don't like a soft golf ball for putting. I tried the Chrome Soft and Supersoft balls and they weren't for me. The Supersoft felt like a bouncy ball off the putter.

I played the Pinnacle Gold for a few rounds and love the feel off the putter and full shots but hate it off my wedges from 70 and in.

Does the Wilson Elite feel like a Chrome Soft off the putter?

If you don't like soft golf balls when putting, you probably won't like the 50 elite. It's soft.

My regular ball is Srixon Z Stars (prefer the first generation pre spin skin, and have a stockpile). This year I plan on golfing in the fall in sub 10*C temperatures. I bought 2 dozen 50 elites because lower compression is definitely better in lower temperatures. Anyone try these in the cold?
Its my opinion that that you can lose a little feedback with the 50 if you are using any type of insert designed to soften the feel of the putter, however I have been gaming a couple different putters that are milled faces (no inserts) and I am getting good feedback with a solid feel putting the 50.

Good price, but white only.

The yellows are double the price for some reason.

Based on my outing earlier in the week, i think my driving distance went up slightly. I've had a few drives where it landed and bounced back 2 ft but all of them looked like a high boring flat trajectory shots.
Ball is amazing. Didn't get any spin back on my iron shots or the wedges but that could be due to trajectory of the shots and the large ball size crater that it left on the green.

same here.
i was on the fence after the first round with them, and wanted to like the duo more.. ended up loving the 50 so much i bought 13 doz blems from budget golf @ 6 per doz with coupon code.
not coincidentally, i shot my lowest score of the year with them, and 6 of my last 8 rounds with them are below my average scores.
I'm a believer!!

I played the 50 yellow yesterday. Was a bit cool (15C) and felt nice off the face. Course was wide open so I played 2 balls. Played it head to head with a pro v1. Both went the same distance, a bit more roll out chipping with the 50, easy to get used to. Played the whole round with 1 50 yellow ball and there is not a mark on it. Very durable. This will be my cold weather ball, srixon z star I will stick to in the summer.

Well...In the summer I like the z stars. Not as clicky as the xv or prov 1x...but has the perfect balance feeling off my mizuno irons. When it's cold the lower 50 compression I find has a similar feel to it. I tried Chrome Soft in the summer and it was too "mushy"

Guys, I ran into some trouble with the 50 yesterday. It was a cooler morning, so I was expecting it to shine, but it was totally unpredictable for me. It didn't have it's normal feel and it seemed to run out a ton more than I have expereinced. I hit a few approaches that were high 9 iron or wedge shots that landed and ran through the green. My experience has been that this ball holds greens well it hits and rolls a couple feet and stops, but this day the 50 was hitting and rolling like it was fired out of a cannon. It was 56 deg when we teed off, I'm not sure I can contribute it to the temp, but I shot my season high 47 on the front nine. I only hit one green in regulation but had six shots roll through the green. I had been chipping the 50 well prior to this round, but this morning I was literally chipping across the green and back. My saving grace was 4 one putts all 10 -15 footers . I am scratching my head trying to figure out how things went so bad with this ball. And yes I understand I am a contributing factor. I tossed the ball in the pond after the front nine and put a new 50 in play on the back 9. Now this was the ball I have experienced over the past few weeks it hit rolled out a couple feet and stopped it was a completely different ball than what I experienced on the front nine and I bounced back with a 39 on the back. It was likely in the low 60's on the back nine, but again I have a hard time thinking that the temp had that much influence over the ball. I wish I had been smarter and traded out the ball on the front nine, to get a better comparison, but I kept trying to adjust to it and was too stubborn to change. Have any of you experienced anything similar with the 50 or had similar inconsistencies?

I'm not jumping ship, but I have been thinking about it since completing the round yesterday and I am stumped.

I've played these once or twice in the past and picked up 12 of the new version (new?) from the threads here. Generally play B330 RXS or Srixon Z star SL. Driver SS range between 92-95. Draw is my shape on every club. Cant join the fan club. Huge spin off every club that increased my draw to something uncontrollable. Drives were shorter and spin was less noticeable. But 2nd shots with hybrids and/or woods on par 5s were unruly. Especially into a wind. And 150 to 180 par threes off the tee were wayyyyyyyyyy left. I occasionally bag the e6 ball with similar compression and much prefer them in that compression range. I'm generally good switching around balls between 50 and 70 without issue but these were an unpleasant surprise. Never had similar issues with Duo's or SuperSofts so maybe it's the shallow dimples. I dunno.
Just not for me.

I find it amusing reading folks saying they are passing on the ball that doesn't factor in the user at all. For example from the post above " And 150 to 180 par threes off the tee were wayyyyyyyyyy left". Yes, the ball just shoots way left whenever contacted by a club. The user swinging the club has nothing to do with it.... Glad this attitude exists because that just means there is more for me :lock:

Just kidding around. Hit my longest drives last week while playing the white ones but it has nothing to do with the colour. Just a great ball.

Quick observation after playing this ball for a few rounds. In comparison to the Supersoft, it seems like the 50 is very long off the shorter clubs and shorter of the longer clubs. Seems I begin to lose distance from my 6 hybrid to my driver. 7 & 8 iron seems to be on par and 9 iron to my LW seems to be too long. Has anyone noticed anything similar?
I have found the same issue with super softs compared to other balls. It must be a low compression thing. Maybe you and me both swing too fast for these softer balls. It's a shame cause apart from driver I really like the feel and flight I get from the super soft. But the shorter drives and longer short irons is a deal breaker for me. I just keep a couple in the bag now to pull out on short par 3s if I am between clubs. I just go with the shorter club and the super soft.

Oddly enough i don't have the same issue as you guys on long club distance and i do swing pretty fast. Shorter clubs weren't that significantly longer than what i ususally hit either

How is your shot trajectory? Mine are usually mile high including the driver at 8.5. I think i can hit 6* head if there was one for FT-9 Tour

Hopefully, it comes in a better yellow now.
Over in the UK we don't have the '50' but have a DX2, 29 comp ball.

What a lovely ball, BUT.............And please listen, Wilson, the yellow is an awful, dull yellow that's lost in the winter!!

The yellow colouring seems 'buried' in it's cover.

As the ultimate winter ball it needs to be BRIGHT, FLURO, Srixon z star yellow, DT Solo Yellow, Supersoft yellow.....

spent almost a full hour to read this topic, and ordered 20 DZ from budget golf. will get another 2 DZ in orange to try before I get the shipment.
myself and two kids under 14yrs , we need a lot of balls. I like the supersoft, but my kids like to play with Taylormade SLDR ( got 12 DZ on sale, 2 for 1). wish this ball could satisfy all of us. :taunt::taunt::taunt:
