Which golfball for Par 3 and how does e6+ perform on the green?

I have two golfball questions.

1. Which golf-ball is best for par 3? I assume people want softer, more spinning and quick stopping balls. Recommandation?

2. I hear so many good things about the e6+. It could be a coincidence, but recently all my local shops ran out of e6+ golfballs.

And TGW.com is also out-of-stock on e6+ golfballs. Its like.. a trend to use one like pro v1 or something. so I guess they really

reduce driver sidespin(probably received a lot of love from slice/hook fighters). My question is, I saw few low handicappers

complaining of e6+'s horrible ability around the green. It just doesn't spin as much and not as soft feel off the putter.

As someone who doesn't really have a huge slice/hook problem, I wouldn't sacrifice around-the-green performance over straighter drives.

Am I the only one thinking this way?

I am still working off my supply of regular E6's (have 4 new dozens of e6+ waiting), and could not be happier. This ball is straighter off the tee and easy to tell for me. I have a dozen of the HX hot bite I use on the par 3's or when I am up for a change. Really I'm just trying to use them up, nothing against the e6's. Luckily my credit card that I use for work purchases has points that I can use to get golf stuff. The dozens of free e6+'s are always nice.

Absolutely use the e5+. I find it is equally straight off the tee, if a few yards shorter than the e6+ and has all the spin and feel I would want around the green.

I agree. I absolutely hated the E6. But I love the E5. That thing just spins like crazy, and it can get out there a bit too.

Any other HX Hot Bite users out there for Par 3s?

I also use HX Hot Bite for short Par 3s. I was wondering if there is something better out there..

So you use a different ball for par 3s than you do for par 4s and 5s?

yeah... I use straigher/less sidespin/more distance balls for par 4s/5s while I use more softer, spinning ball for par 3..

I find that the E6 is very soft off the putter and wedges. They do not spin as well as premium balls but they are no worse than any other "soft" ball. Playing the E6 or balls like it means that you need to have the ability to get the ball in the air on the shorter shots. It may be my imagination but it seems like when I'm practicing my short game with multipul brands of balls the E6 seems to launch the highest of them all with the same swing. They don't check as well but land soft. And I've never had a problem with them stopping on a par three. I've even had them spin back.

I love this ball. Launches high and long on easy swings and will go higher and longer with hard swings. Don't get the idea that you can't work it either. There's just less chance you'll over cook it than with a premium ball.

If you're looking for extreme ball flight control and a lot of check around the greens go with the E5+ or a premium ball.

Also meant to mention--here in Alabama my local Wal-mart is now stocking the E6+, E5+, and the Bridgestone Treosoft. Super sweet for me.

Another vote for the E5+. I was comparing it to the TM TP Blacks this past weekend. First round was wet conditions because of dew on the grass. The second round was considerably drier. For the game of a mid-capper like me, the E5+ performed way better than the TP Black. Held the greens more, especially when the grass and thus the clubface was wet. Found it to still be more consistent when the course dried out though the TP Blacks got better.

This with using 54* and 60* PING iWedges, which as you may know, are not meant to put a lot of backspin on balls.

I am thoroughly impressed with this ball.
