I was able to test the new line-up guys and it's great stuff. Have a couple questions:

1. Since the Apex hybrid is more "iron-like" what differences will I see between it and the Apex Utility?
2. I have always loved flighted shafts but it appears that most of the "flighting" is now done in the club head itself such as the tungsten weights in the Apex Pro. Can you talk about why this is preferable?
3. Why not put the cup face tech in the Apex short irons? Since golfers in general are obsessed with distance, wouldn't they benefit from more spring effect in all clubs?

On a side note guys, would love to see you release the new muscle back (MB1) that we are seeing in some tour bags. Thanks!

From the video released, new Apex irons appear to be more hollow than the previous version. Is this something that goes along with the 360 face cup design?

First, I want to say congratulations to the Callaway team for a terrific 2015.

I am in the market for a new set of irons (long overdue) and I was deciding between the XR irons and the Apex 2013. I know the Apex is a substantial price difference but for high handicappers, what's the benefit of choosing the new Apex irons over the XR irons?

This question have may been asked, so I apologize if it has. Are the new Apex hybrids geared towards more skillfull players that need to shot shape? What situation would benefit from a Apex hyrbid rather than a normal XR hybrid?

I look forward to this discussion and thanks for your time.

Thank you Callaway and Golfwrx for hosting this Q&A.

With the inclusion of face cup technology into a forged head, how did you come up with lofts for the pros and apex irons that would make it so that a combo set (pros in scoring irons and apex in the longer irons) could be possible?

Love the Apex line and very much looking forward to the CF16. I'm on the same page with you, as I play with a combo set of XR 6i and 7i and Apex 8,9,PW. (I have an Apex 6 & 7 but love the explosion the CF provides on the XRs).

How did you satisfy yourself that you were able to maintain the thrilling/sublime feel the 2014 clubs have given the new materials and construction? Was it the tungsten in the 14s and did you use that material again? When you talk about the DNA of a club like Apex, feel has to be a strand of the helix.

I still remember the feel on the demo day two summers ago when I picked up. swung and pured an Apex 6 iron for the first time.
Here's to great success with the new line!

Thank you Callaway for this Q&A.

1) Will the CF16 Apex be a substantial upgrade from the outgoing Apex model or more of an evolution?
2) For the Apex hybrid, is it designed to incorporate with the irons primarily? I play the BB Alpha 815 3 hybrid right now but it feels like an extension of my BB Alpha 815 fairway and not necessarily a 3 iron replacement.

I would love the chance to put new clubs in the bag; thank you for this opportunity! Callaway full bag since I first started golf when I was 11 years old!

I have the X-Tour Forged Irons in the bag now and looking to upgrade with the new Apex line, Most of my misses are left "Right Handed", I'm looking at the pros, because my greatest strength is my ability to recover with approach shots to the green from off the fairway and my short game around the greens. I love the look of both, maybe a mixed set 4-5 iron Apex 6-pw Pro's. My question is which iron will be more like the X-Tours that i play now? I do like the lofts/Specs on the pro's compared to the Apex CF 16 too strong, I don't have a issue telling someone i hitting a 5 iron when most of my group is hitting 6's or 7's. Thanks Callaway for the contest and thanks for making some greatest clubs out there. Here is my current bag setup.

Driver: X-Hot Pro 9.5*, Project -X 6.0
Fairway: X-Hot Pro 17* Project -X 6.0
Hybrid: X2-Hot Pro 20* Aldila Tour Green S-Flex
4-Iron: X-Utility Prototype 24*, Projec-X PXi 6.0
5-PW: x-Tour forged S300 DG TT
Wedges: X-Forged vintage 50*/10 ~ 54*/14 ~ 58*/9 hand ground to 6* bounce, Aldila NV multi Pro S-Flex
Putter: Bettinardi Queen B #6 33" Midsize Pure Grip.

Thank you for the time Callaway and WRX

1. With the addition of the Forged Cup Face in the Apex irons, are we going to have a harsher feeling/sounding club? I am not sure how the feel would be changed based on the addition of the face cup.

2. Do you see a distinct possibility of pairing, say the 4-6 of the CF16 and then the 7-GW of the Pros? Would lofts allow this or would strengthening/weakening be required?

1) Why did the cup face not make it into the Apex Pros?

2) What was behind the decision to go with two different finishes?

Your video describes the new irons as being made with an "advanced quadruple net forging" process. Can you describe this process in more detail? Also can you tell us which Callaway staff pros will be playing these new irons? Thanks!

3) Does a weight kit come with the Apex Hybrid? If not, will it be available aftermarket?

4) Would you consider the Apex Hybrid even more of a "pro" style hybrid than the current XR Pro?

Callaway thank you again for taking the time to answer our questions. This is one of my favorite parts of new Callaway product releases. I have been playing the XR PROS since they came out and absolutely love them.

I have two questions:

1. With the new Apex having the 360 cup face what can I expect to see from this iron in comparison to the XR PROS?
2. Is this similar to the APEX UT in make up and design? Clarification would it be advisable to replace the APEX UT with the new Apex irons?

Better feel, dispersion, distance, height.

What is the hosel size on the hybrids? What steel shafts, if any, are offered as no upcharge options for the hybrid?

During your internal testing, what were the launch and spin differences between the XR and Apex hybrids?

Thank you Callaway and GolfWrx for the Q&A session.

1. With the Apex Hybrid being designed to blend seamlessly with the irons (Doc said more Iron-DNA than Fairway Wood-DNA), would you recommend having the same shaft as your Apex/Pro Irons or your fairway woods?
2. Why no adjustable hosel on the Apex Hybrid?

1. What went into the decision on the Apex CF irons to only include the cup face in the 3-7 irons, and is there a sound/feel transition between the 7 iron compared to the 8 iron and on down?

2. With respect to the Apex hybrids, if they are truly meant to be long iron replacements, why are the shaft lengths an inch longer than the corresponding irons?
