Rust-oleum Neverwet outdoor spray

Has anyone ever tried Rust-oleum Neverwet outdoor spray on their golf shoes? If so how long did it last before re-applying.

Not on shoes only on my golf bag. Applied it 6 months ago. Pretty successful. I plan to reapply again.

Good idea on the shoes. I'll do that too. It does leave a white thin film so I'll do it on my white shoes that are starting to lose waterproof"ness".

No. That ones doesn't leave a film.

I may have to order that one. I did my grips and it worked but seemed to pick up dirt faster so I scrubbed it off.

I made sure they dried properly out in the sun. Maybe slightly tackier. I have sweaty hands and play in humidity so it helped.

Was at Home Depot today and all they had was the "fabric" one that apparently leaves the residue even with the "goes on clear" label. I'll go to Lowes this week.

Bought something me at lowes and applied it to every shoe I own. Will see the results when dry.

It worked great on the leather. I was about to spray some mesh shoes and thought it was a waste. I may try them anyway. Want to spray some curtains that I just hung on our back porch.

You want Nikwax Tx. Direct wash in to bring your old waterproof gear back to life.

Does that Nikwax wash stuff coat your washing machine? I've been afraid to try it because I don't want it getting on the next load. Hell, I made my wife stop using dryer sheets so it wouldn't mess up my polyblend polos....

I've been using the Nikwax products (one to wash and one to finish), follow the instructions and it works AWESOME. Won't hurt your washer one bit, it's designed to be washed in. I wash all my GoreTex, shells, etc etc and it rejuvenates and extends product life perfectly...BB

I'm not worried about it "hurting" the washer. More worried about residue leftover. But it sounds like it's not something that I have to worry about! That being said, my Goretex held up like a champ in the heaviest rain for 18 that I have ever played in. So no need to recharge it yet!

The answer is yes, Nikwax coats your washer...and your dryer. Keep that in mind when making your selection.

The Goretex site recommends using the spray-on (Nikwax) versus the wash-in. I think if you use the wash-in type it reduces the breath-ability of the clothing since you're coating the inside layer of the clothing. I've used the spray Nikwax tx direct for the past five years with good results. The rain just seems to jump off my gear. Plus I don't have to worry about fouling up my washing machine.

Nikwax will waterproof your article of clothing, but it also coats the washer and will waterproof everything for 2-3 loads afterwards as well.

The never wet spray works great. I sprayed it on my cheap water resistant rain suit and my golf shoes before Ireland trip and it worked incredible.
