Importance of stability in golf shoes

I've been wondering this lately, as I am trying to cut down on my sliding during my swing. I have noticed that in some of my golf shoes, in specifically the ones marketed as lighter weight, sneaker type golf shoes, with thin soles, that my feet move around a bit more. I can tell a difference in the stability of rolling over the outside of my right foot (I'm right handed) during the backswing, when wearing something like an Adidas ClimaCool vs. an Adidas 360 Tour. I was looking at picking up a new pair of shoes or two, specifically Footjoy since I have a very narrow foot and Footjoy is really the only company that sells narrow sizing that I've found. Anyways, I tried on the DNAs and the Hyperflex. The Hyperflex felt much more stable, my feet felt like they stayed very stable and flat while just kinda shifting my weight around them in the store. In the DNAs however, I felt like it was easier for my foot to move side to side over the edge of the shoes, if that makes sense. I talked to a guy at my club this weekend when I saw that he had a pair of DNAs in his trunk and I asked him about them. He said they were very comfortable, but that he usually wore his Adidas (which looked like 360s or Powerband type), as he said they were much more stable than the DNAs. Do you just grab whatever is the most comfortable and feels good, or do you put high importance on rock solid stability? (In a round that matters, not just heading to the range or a quick 9 after work)

Comfort is far and away factor #1. However, to me stability is important. It's why I've been wearing my Lunar Control 3's more and more and not my TW 13's. The TW 13's are way more comfortable with the free sole, but they lack stability because of the sole. If I'm just going to the range I'll throw the TW's on because I'll only be out there for an hour or so after work, but if I'm playing, I'm putting on the LC3's or my TW 14s. To me the extra stability really allows me to fire through and post up on my left side without feeling like I'm losing balance.
