Nike Golf Shoes Waterproof Warranty Question

I have a pair of TW '14 that have started coming apart at one of the seams near the toe which is letting in water. The shoes come with a two year waterproof warranty, but I cannot locate my warranty card.

 

I have read conflicting information online about Nike's warranty period. Most of the information states that Nike only warrants their products for two years from the date of manufacture, but I have read that Nike's waterproof warranty is different in that it runs from the date of purchase.

 

Does anyone have any experience with this or does anyone still have a copy of the warranty card that came inside the box?

It would be from date of purchase. Shoes can sit on the store shelf for two years.

It's not the warranty card you need, it's your proof of purchase.

I have proof of purchase, but everything posted on nike dot com and my "chat" conversations with customer service indicate that they use the date of manufacture located on the tag as the start date of the warranty (which would be ridiculous for waterproofing).

I am just trying to avoid paying the expense of sending my shoes to Nike, and then having them tell me that I am out of luck because the TW '14 was likely manufactured more than two years ago.

I will keep you all posted of whatever I learn.

Purchased the shoes from Discount Golf World (online), which is an authorized Nike dealer. Their site advises customers to handle warranty claims directly with the manufacture.

Heard back from Nike Golf on Twitter. They confirmed that the waterproof warranty runs from two years from date of purchase. It would be helpful if Nike trained all of its customer service representatives to know this information because the two that I spoke with earlier today both gave me incorrect information.

How would this be applicable to eBay stores? What would you do for a proof of purchase, just print out Purchase History?

That sounds like it would work. I would think that anything that you have that proves the date of purchase should be sufficient. The only questionable part would be whether your seller was an authorized dealer.

If you DM Nike on Twitter they will get back to you quickly and either give you a number to call or have someone call you, they're very good with their customer service.

Just to update this thread, I sent the shoes to Nike under the waterproof warranty and the claim was approved. I should be receiving a Product Voucher for the suggested retail price of the shoe within 5-7 days.

I don't know about Nike but just today I got a pair of Footjoy shoes with a two year waterproof warranty. The attached warranty card says the period starts on date of purchase. If the shoe fails in the first year a free replacement pair will be provided. If the shoe fails in the second year you get a 50% credit for a replacement pair.
