How do you load your bag?

Wondering how everyone carries their clubs and why?

I have my woods and hybrid on the left side starting with Driver in the back. Then i do the same with irons in every vertical row (longer clubs in the back) finishing with the wedges on the right side of the back...

This way when Im using a push cart my woods doesnt cover all the other clubs.

How the bag is transported on the course be it carried, pushed on a cart, or strapped to a riding cart, would make a big diffrence in what works for you.

a 15 club divided bag used on a push cart as follows:

Very top has my putter in a putter well, located well below the top of the rest of the bag.

Top left Driver, next over 4 wood, then 5 iron, then 6 iron on the right

Next row down 7 wood, hybrid, 7 iron, and 8 iron on right

Next row down gap wedge, empty space, 9 iron, pitching wedge on right

Bottom left lob wedge, bottom right 54* sand wedge


The 7 wood and hybrid nestle nicely under the driver and 4 wood.

Clubs used for chipping and pitching are on the right side and bottom. 6i,8i,pitching 54*,58*

I have a 4 compartment stand bag. I have my D,3w,5w in back; 3h,4h,5h left center; 6i,7i,8i center right; and 9i,pw,sw in front. I have not decided where to put my putter.

My son also has a 4 compartment stand bag; and he likes his irons and wedges reversed with the putter center right.

Once I decided its too hot in Florida to walk anymore, I take my putter out of the bag and keep it in the basket behind the seat all round other wise I always seemed to loose head covers. Plus Scotty doesn't like riding in the back, sometimes he rides shotgun if it rains.

I have a Nike Air Hybrid bag with 14-way dividers. I used to do them in rows, woods to irons in my other bag. Now, I use a combination approach, kind of like the 'woode' system in some of the Ogio bags. I put my Driver, 3-wood, and hybrid down the side, putter in the larger middle top slot and then irons, 4/5/6, 7/8/9, GW/SW/LW. The PW right now lives by itself, hanging out in the odd spot above the 6i. I like it (so far?), the woods aren't in the way anymore with head covers if I need to get to a club. The 'scoring clubs' are all together as I often grab all three if I'm riding in a cart and need to go to the other side of the green for a chip. I can post a pic if any one is that interested.

and 6-PW in the large bottom slot.

The only clubs that ever stay in the right spots are my woods and putter because they have designated holes. Everything else is a free for all!!

5 divider. I go with Driver/Hybrid top left. Keeping my putter hot top right. 4/5/6 middle left. 7/8/9 middle right and all the wedges bottom divider.

15 way divider but I follow the Ogio Woode system as mentioned above.

Woods on the left, putter on top, irons and wedges left to right, top to bottom.

I am option 1, it works best for me and allows to me easily get to things.

15 way divider...2/4/4/4/1....right to left highest loft to lowest, each row starting over. Keep my 50* and PW in the middle of last row 56* and 60* on outside of last row, putter hole divides them. I'm OCD about it. I get antsy when they are out of order.

I used to have the driver and 3-wood where the putter is, but moved it because I hang my towel from the driveway marker and was tired of getting my butt wet from the towel.

I've also got a lightweight titleist bag. It's a 6-way divider, so basically the same thing except the 89P on the bottom left and S,L on the bottom right.
