Putter headcovers

I don't understand why so many peoples gamers look like they have been dragged through rocks. I have several putters that were in the bag for over a year, and they are still in very good shape.

Always use a headcover. My father-in-law doesn't and his Redwood is beat up. It drives me crazy.

Once the cover comes off of my Daytona on the first green it stays off. My Ogio Syncro bag has the Woode top which has an isolated slot for the putter. It completely protects the putter from the rest of the clubs but it also causes the cover to slide off. So for the sake of not losing it, I leave the cover off during the round.

I use one that looks liek those Cameron covers but mine is plain black with the Bay Hill logo and name on it that I got when I stayed and played there. LOVE it. I will have to return to get a new one when this one starts looking shabby. Had it for about 6-7 yrs now, I think.

 

I use it merely for protection and you will never see extra putter covers lying around with me unless it is on an old putter I have retired btu I am a firm believer that it is the indian and not the arrow so I do not switch putters. Unless I get a gift (Redwood series or new Karsten series but MUST be Anser style and only Ping - I do not want the Scotty one - devoted Ping man here) or break this one (I do not have a temper in golf but things happen), I am not likely to change it.

I always do, it is my favorite putter i want it to last. It has a Pittsburgh Penguins headcover on it!

I use headcovers on all woods, hybrid, and especially the putter. If I'm chipping up and brought the putter it comes off and goes under the grip to keep it off the grass. Otherwise I toss it on the green, putt out and pick it up. Since it's an awesome ping karsten cover (putter too) I can pick it up by the magnet and don't even have to bend over. It's back on while walking away.

I always use one, from my oilcan cameron to my vintage becu and beni pings, the only time they are out of the cover is when I am on the green.

 

When playing with a caddie, before the round starts, I insist that they replace the headcovers on all my clubs before proceeding to the next shot. If they don't agree, I get another caddie. It is amazing that even at great places like Bandon Dunes, you clubs can look worse after a round if you have a lazy caddie.

Always use one. The bag chatter does put minute scratches on the soft metal of my putters and I believe it is really essential.

Funny thing, I do that too. And to protect my precious putter headcover, I have an extra bag, I put on the headcover, when I put - so the headcover doesn't get dirty :rolleyes:

I use a simple Neoprene cover with a velcro fastener.

Whenever I use a caddy they alwasy seem to remove the cover causing my putter face to mark up...

Recently whilst in Morocco I head to explain to the caddy that the head cover is there for a reason... I could have wrung his neck when I saw what happened to the putter after a round :rolleyes: .

That black / white fish headcover looks nice. In fact I could have ordered a lot more headcovers than I did, they are so cool. The only downside is, they are quite expensive and shipping isn´t that cheap either. But the collection has just started. :swoon:

 

I ordered the yellow monkey & banana cover to match my bag and other headcovers, plus it looks kind of funny.

The second one was the Amigo black, to always remember me of a girlfriend from Mexico, she´s just the best. :huh:

 

btw: I just recognized you´re from Denmark, did you ever play the Holstebro golf course? I really loved it, one of my favourites so far!

They all have magnetic closure and very soft fabric inside the headcover, so the putter head slides in and out very easy without any danger of getting scratched :clapping:

Hey, that's funny - I also bought the Como Come Black Amigo, but sold it together with one of my Bettinardi DASS putters to a fellow member of the GolfWRX board - so it's still in safe hands :D

 

 

I've played Holsterbro once - and it's a great course - one of the better courses in Denmark. Definitely in top 20 :lol:

I plan on doing a golf trip to Jylland/Jutland next summer and will play Esbjerg, Holstrebro, Silkeborg and then will drive to the Northern part of Germany and will try to find the best courses in that region and play these too.

Can you recommend some great courses in the northern part of Germany - from Hamburg and up to the Danish border ?

Hey this sounds great - let's play a couple of rounds together. I'll buy you a couple of German dark draft beer and dinner after the round - no matter what :lol:

 

I'll probably go there in late June to start of July (plan on doing a 4 week trip - playing nothing but golf every day in Jylland and northern Germany)

My girl friend will come along the first 2 weeks - she's a single digit, so she can play just fine from the yellow and white tees ;)
