New FootJoy shoes: shot at 2015 RSM

I'm split 50/50. I look at them once and like them I go back to the image and think they are ugly. Due to this, "I'm out", on being an investor for buying these

This shoe is completely flexible and almost collapsible. It's made for the guy that doesn't need stiff as a board stability. It moves with you all throughout the swing. Who asked for it? You guessed it: The Brand Ambassadors. They wanted a more athletic shoe.

Is it also low to zero drop with low stack height(thin sole) and wide toe box?

You used to be able to count on Footjoy for quality constructed, good looking golf shoes. That's in the rear view mirror now.

Why such a radical change? It's like the powers at FJ hired some Nike schmucks to start designing golf shoes. Crazy color schemes, outlandishly large logos, and a marked drop in quality.

Hey Tbowles, any more inside info? Materials? Pricing? Comparison to DNA 2.0?

The looks are different, but compared to the new Nike stuff they look pretty good.
No pricing as yet. I saw them in early October. It's a very flexible polymer. It's twists, bends and flexes in almost any way imaginable for the more athletic golfer. It doesn't compare to the DNAs at all. The DNAs are super stable compared to these. It's not a traditional shoe, and it's just one of a few more that will be released probably closer to the PGA Show and in the Spring.

I think im about to throw up... What happened to the icons, and all of those classic looking shoes that Footjoy was popular for?????
I'm with you on this one! Guess I'm more of a traditionalist, not a fan of these sneaker type golf shoes!
That's why FootJoy has nine different lines of just golf shoes for men. Icons are still available in the MyJoys program and the Icon Black line is in regular retail. For those that prefer classic looking shoes the Icons and DryJoys Tours are the way to go, no need to worry. :-)

Hopefully they'll make a model without that lacing-adjustment disc thing hanging off the back. :russian_roulette:
You mean without the Boa lacing system? I am sure they will have a lace-up version. The BOA system provides a better fit and better performance than the lace-up design, but to each their own.

It amazes me what passes for good design on this forum. When someone uses the word "atrocity" to describe the design/colorway of a golf shoe...well, nevermind. SMH

It's like Keegan Bradley's Jordan's and Kramer's shoes in 'The Jimmy' had an illegitimate love child.

And not in a good way. Stick to what you do best FJ.

I agree that the Nike's are also rank. Doesn't mean the Footjoy's are anything other than an abomination. But then I'm more of a Gmac for Ecco World Class kinda guy.

I'm sure this model has a certain age group and demographic in mind. Same way with Nike. It's obvious they are not meant to be wore around by your Friday afternoon senior groups. I know those Nikes are popular with the young players at my country club. Just seems footjoy has no clue when it comes to making trendy new styles of shoes. They should stick with what they do best...DNA, Classics, and so forth.

I actually prefer this type of golf shoe. Why would I wear dress shoes all day that I have to stuff my feet into and them go play golf in dress shoes with cleats. I could not fit into a narrow toed Dry Joy Tour or DNA. Why do people where running/active shoes when not at work and them want to wear a tight golf shoe. Of course if Ecco woke up and made a size 48 or 49 golf shoe I would go for that as well. Unfortunately the only comfortable golf shoes look like this.

They look neither athletic nor classic. I'm fine going one way either FJ Icon classic or an Adidas Adizero athletic, but these look like a desperate attempt to look sporty. The massive FJ on the side is truly cringe-worthy. Though they look plausibly comfortable, I can't get over the visual.

Those are soooo bad. I'm sure that footjoy makes solid footwear but it's pretty clear they have no clue how to make a good looking "athletic" golf shoe. I don't know any of my 30 year old friends who wear footjoy because their shoes are definitely "old school" and I know none of the junior golfers at our club come looking for them. I think they do a phenomenal job with their "classic" shoes like the icon or even the DNA but they have a long way to go if they really want to take on the athletic brands in this space. Comfortable or not these and the hyper flex shoes are brutal.

I'm not against these sneaker type shoes at all. But with the right type trousers or shorts please. Otherwise it starts to look like wearing a pair of sneakers with suit trousers. Not a good look, sorry.

I like the black ones. They definitely remind me of my TW 15's..the uppers/lacing and the red pull tab at the back of the heel.
