Lunar Mont Royal, Lunar Waverly, or FI Impact 2?

Recommended Posts

I have some credit I need to spend by the end of the year and am looking for a pair of casual spikeless golf shoes. I'm already set on spike shoes and will probably get a pair of LC4's in the spring, so what do you guys recommend? Mont Royal, Waverly or FI Impact 2? I

If you are a Nike guy, the FI Impact 2 was my pick of those three options, with the Waverly second and the Mont Royal third. The FI and Waverly fit my foot a whole lot better than the MR, and the FI was much more comfortable.

If you can stand adidas, they have really aggressive pricing on the Adicross IV and the Adicross Gripmore. Both fit my feet better and felt better than the Waverly.

Definitely a Nike guy, so will probably go with the FI! Thanks for the input.

I'm exactly opposite. Own all 3 and the Mont Royals are the most comfortable followed by the Waverly and then the FI. The FI have some weird hump in the middle of the shoe making it strike the ground funny. Love my all white MR's though.

Ah that makes it more challenging! I love the all white MR's aesthetically and they're 40 bucks cheaper which is sweet! I saw some reviews about the top creasing and being uncomfortable, did that happen at all for you?

All look nice. Try them all on and pick what fits, that way you will not go wrong. Waverly and MR are a bit more "sneaker," while the FI is definitely more "running shoe." MR's were way too narrow and I do not like non-leather/pleather shoes. I prefer either the leather of the Waverly or the waterproof mesh of the FI.

Both the FI and Waverly were lower drop, which I also prefer.

I haven't had that happen.

I know you want to stay Nike and I am all for that since I own a pair of FI impacts myself. However, I only wear them around the shop and to teach, never to play in. So, if you want the best performing spikeless shoes go with the FJ Dry Joy Casual. It is the best performing, most comfortable spikeless shoe on the market. Nobody on tour wears MR or FI but tons wear the Fj DJ casual. I love Nike and a ton of what they do but they don't make the best spikeless golf shoe. So, either get the best Spikeless Nike shoe or get the best spikeless shoe. Up to you but that is my two cents and we can still be friends regardless of your decision. ;)

I'll echo some previous posts, that if you really want the best spikeless, nike, unfortunately isn't the answer. I've tried on both the footjoy DJ casual and adidas adicross gripmore and thought they were worlds better than anything nike had to offer, and I'm about as big a nike fan as there is.

but choosing between those three, i'd say the mont royal, i just like the overall look of them, as opposed to waverly which seem very skateboard'ish, if that makes sense. also, both the mont royal and waverly have a cork footbed, which is huge for walking and being on your feet for extended periods of time.
