Ecco Biom Hybrid 2 Waterproof?

Hi everyone. I am thinking of getting the Ecco Biom Hybrid 2 shoes because I am looking for a comfortable shoe and I walk almost every round. My old Footjoy contours give me blisters on a couple of my toes. I was wondering if people can comment about how waterproof these shoes are? Also do they have a waterproof warranty? I didn't see one about their golf shoes on the Ecco website. From where I live, it rains alot, so golf days during the fall and spring are mainly on wet grass.

 

Any help would be great.

I don't ever recall seeing a 'water proof' warranty with Ecco shoes. The signs at Golf Galaxy say water resistant.

Actually that statement on Dick's site is incorrect. The upper is Yak leather with HydroMax treatment, but it's only water repellent, not waterproof.

I bought the white ones, with black trim/dots. Wore them 3 times. Never wore them in rain, but there was always morning dew, as I try to get off the first tee time available. After the first round, they were horribly stained. By the third time, my left foot/sock was damp. Not sure if I had a defective pair, but they were definitely not waterproof, which I assumed they were. After reviewing the Ecco website, they are only water resistant. But if they couldn't handle morning dew after only three rounds, I'm not sure if they can even be called water resistant. Again, not sure if I just had a defective pair.

Luckily, Dick's, where I bought them, accepted them as a return. (Never bought from them before, but I was impressed with their service.)

As for comfort, best golf shoe I've ever worn. Really sad to have returned them.

Have the Biom Hybrid 2 Black -- First two times I wore mine, the first day was in a heavy rain for 10 minutes, and then the resulting moisture - no issues. The second day was morning dew and no issues. I really do not expect any shoe to be waterproof as long as it has laces and a tongue, but these were fine. Your mileage will vary.

Always play early with dew. No issues with staining or leaks. Haven't played in the rain yet though.

I had contours and switched to the ecco biom hybrid 2. Much roomier toe box and more comfortable than the contour (which is pretty comfortable). Played in the rain the other day, feet were dry but the leather got pretty damp. Dried out fine though - need to treat them.

I played Saturday in Portland Oregon 1 day after they got 2+ inches of rain. Standing water everywhere, lost a ball in 2 feet of water in
a bunker. Muddy, spongy slop. Feet were bone dry after 18 holes. Thse eccos are tremendous, comfortable, quality shoes.

Looks like Ecco is putting out a new Biom Hybrid 2 GTX, with Goretex, which is actually waterproof, and not just water-resistant. Anyone know anything about this?

as for the hydromax... its hit or miss, as I have several pairs that my feet stay dry, and several pairs that ,uh, i don't wear unless its very sunny...

Sounds like their $240 Biom (whose spikes are a little too aggressive for me), a version of which is Goretex. A Biom Hybrid 2 spikeless with Goretex at a lower price point is welcome.
