Cameron Custom Shop or BOS?

I have a Pro Platinum Mil Spec I want to get refinished in Oil Can. Will Cameron do this? I know BOS will. Or will Sc only replace the original finish?

The Custom Shop will only do the pro plat. finish because it was the original finish on the putter. B.O.S. will be able to do the Oil Can style finish. If you do a search for oil can or B.O.S. you will see some pretty awesome restorations.

I think I will send it to BOS then, I want Oil Can as the finish and not Pro Platinum! I guess Scotty doesn't want us bettering his original designs/finishes.

+1 to BOS. I sent my Mil-Spec back to Scotty in 2005 and it was not only expensive but it rusted at a much faster rate than it did originally. Take it to BOS, they'll do a better job and have more options for you.

BOS for sure. Turn around can be down to as little as 2 weeks even if they're not too busy. Like already stated, Cameron wouldn't do oil can anyways...not for the general public at least.

BOS's patina oil might be the most beautiful finish I've ever seen. On a TeI3 it is stunning.

From what I've heard, SC send their oil can putters refurbish jobs to BOS. Makes sense since they are only a few miles from each other. +1 for BOS. You will love your mil-spec when it comes back.

Check with Kevin Colbert at Colbert Putter Plating. He specializes in putters and does outstanding work for very reasonable prices. He is currently refinishing a Scotty Cameron SS Newport Beach 1.5 and a Von's 398 putter for me. He also has a brand new dark stainless finish he offers as an alternative to the matte black oxide finish.
