2015 PNC Father Son: Discussion Thread

GolfWRX is live from the PNC Father Son Challenge at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. The annual Champions Tour event, which began in 1995, uses a 36-hole full-scramble format to determine the best father-son (and sometimes, daughter) duo.

 

The family-filled event allows some of the greatest golfers ever the opportunity to play competitive golf with their loved ones. The challenge field comprises 20 two-man teams, consisting of legendary names such as Nicklaus, Trevino, Faldo, Irwin and Langer.

 

Last year, Team Langer -- Bernhard and his son, Jason -- won the father-son challenge by two strokes over Team Love III, and they're back this year to defend their title.

Langer has the best bag ever. So random, it's like an iron wears out and he just fills them in 1 at a time, CB short irons, blade long irons, raw, black ox, chrome... Doesn't matter and he gets it done time after time!

Funny I noticed the same thing... What really is funny is how his PW GW are TM Rsi mb's while the Adams /Hogans are blades. Hey not going to argue with his success!

His son is Davis Love IV. My guess is that it was made for his son and he took a liking to it and started using it. It was the putter he used when he won in Greensboro.

Jack, I can tell you, has routinely worn custom shoes his whole career. He's got weird feet. Wide, as I recall, with either an unusually narrow or unusually wide heel. I forgot the details; but I doubt anybody can show me a picture of Jack in any standard golf shoes. The news about Jack's co-branding with Allen Edmonds is correct, and I recall even Allen Edmonds' publicity noting that Jack wears custom orthotics in his shoes (and has for a very long time, as I recall).
