This guy has them on ebay for $205 buy now. Isn't there supposed to be an insert? Thanks for the help.

I figured I'd post in here instead of making another "Fake Scotty" thread.

I found a used Scotty Newport 2.5 and GG today (sorry no pics b/c no camera phone) and saw the same thing. Looks like no insert - not shiny like the others, and some parts were rusting. Stainless isn't supposed to rust, right? (Don't answer that) I'm assuming this is a fake - should I go back and tell the guys at the store?

Another thing - can anyone send me a pic of the bottom of a 2.5. I'd like to compare it to what I saw.

One more thing - the one at the store look IDENTICLE to the one at the top of this post - might have bought it from this guy on e-bay.

Stainless = stains less. It will still stain.

You should be able to see a difference in milling between the face and the insert. The insert milling should seem more pronounced and not just look like white paint boardering the insert.

....better if you had some pics.

Thanks - it definately looked like a groove was cut and white paint was filled in - no insert at all - I just wanted to be 100% sure

BTW - I'm in the market for a 2.5 if anyone is looking to dump one!

Where the neck meets head on the fake it goes above the topline, in the real pick there is no bump above the topline. Just looking at both.
