They're the Allen Edmonds Haskels-

 

They come in black and brown and they used to come in cordovan, however they have since discontinued the cordovan-

 

I have two pair of the cordovan in spiked and one like the brown here in spikeless-

 

They are also very comfortable and have the same refurbishing package as the AE dress and casual have-

I posted earlier that , as an older (61) guy I prefer a more traditional shoe, but the last few year my arches have flattened a bit causing my feet to grow a bit. My feet are also a bit on the narrow side, so I have had an awful time finding comfortable, supportive shoes. I've had Addidas, Nike, Skechers, and FootJoy within the last year. On second thought, if the high tops gave me the comfort and support I needed, I would wear them. I might not really like them, but, they would be beautiful if they worked.

As far as I am concerned as long as they don't damage the greens and a have a sole fit for golf then I don't see why anyone should have an issue with them.

 

Those who quote "traditional" are basing their "traditions" on the 1950's (or any other decade) and those shoes were originally street shoes with spikes

Being British I just don't get the American obsession with basketball shoes/boots, especially all those Jordan variations.

Being American, I just don't get the English obsession with and calling the game "football" where Men run around in shorts and knee socks and the second they touch someone a little too hard a yellow or red card comes out, LMAO

 

Granted, it was was here first, though so too did the Model T precede the Porche Carrera Turbo :)

This reporter also asked me my thoughts on the fact that US Football is the only game on earth that one can perform acts on the field and be applauded and celebrated for all of these "manly traits(his words)," yet if one would commit the same acts outside of the stadium he would be arrested and reviled?

 

My response, "that's why I Love this game," was simple and the truth, which sorta threw him cuz he said "that's it?," LMAO

He's the first individual who's ever been banned from one of my bars by someone other than myself-

One evening back in 2010-11, he stopped in for a "quick one" about 5:30ish, and I woke him a little after 3:30am after I'd swept and restocked and I dropped him off(I took his keys when he came in earlier) at my parents' where they were stayin. I get a call on my phone before I was off of their street and he says in a slurred cockney accent, "your Sister and Mother are being totally unreasonable and won't open the door,"

 

My Mother???

 

WTF???

 

I replied that She was his wife and WTF did he mean "my Mother."

 

Well, by then I was back at their house and sure enough my Sis and Mom are standin the Den window and their mouths were moving but we couldn't hear them and Bill kept repeating "I'm sorry, I love you," obviously to no avail, cuz neither lady was byin it, LMAO

 

I called his name, he turned and I told him to STFU and get in the car or I was leavin and it was a cool fall evening to be sleeping on the patio furniture.

 

So one thing I'll give him-

 

He used to get in a world of s*** just like me and my Buds, lmao

 

Plus, they make good place kickers, hahaha

Football, the proper version, is the best sport in the world and the only major sport played mainly with your feet.

My uncle is +3 cap and sports the nike bandons (I think that's the name), they're butt ugly, but he doesn't catch to much crap since he's under par 7/10 rounds lol. He says he likes the extra ankle support since he's always walking. Personally i wouldnt wear them, its just not my style and I would have a hard time matching any of my golf apparel with them. LMAO, Bill is actually Scotch(as is my Mother) and when his parents flew over to meet my Sis, the family, yada yada, yada he told his Mother that I Played college football and she said, "oh, you're rather large for a footballer," LMAO, and Bill said no, the American version and without missing a beat she chirped, "oh, that is such an uncoutheful game and you seem like a Gentleman," lol

 

They were a very nice couple once they loosened up, lol. We took them to my bar and While Bill's Mother would not dance his father danced with Madison and my Sis and once he had a few he was a riot-

I'm such a simple man when it comes to golf shoes. I'll take my all black Footjoy Contours any day of the week. I really can't see spending $300 on shoes and wearing them on the course. I actually can't spend that much on shoes period. With shoes that cost that much I'd probably freak out everytime I got a little bit of dirt on them. I have enough troubles with my game as is. The last thing I need is something else to distract me while I'm hacking my way through the course.

Beautiful shoes. (The reptile grain shoes!) I won't ask what they cost, I can afford them, but always been too frugal. Besides, I walk almost exclusively, the cow pasture I belong to would tear them up. I've probably mentioned in other threads about the Dexters I had thirty five years ago. Beautiful leather wing tips, leather soles, metal cleats, and kilties. Positively, the best golf shoes of my life. I wore those for years, until they literally disintegrated.

 

I looked like a 6'3" elf with the toes curled up, before they just fell apart.

 

No, I don't care for the basketball golf shoes. If a guy likes them, wear them.

No, these are a gator patterned leather.

 

They retail for $295 though you can get them through AE in their "Seconds" department for $195, at least that's what I paid a few years ago and they have the same warranty, service, etc., and I went with my two brown pair(one spikes and one spikeless)-

 

Pete and Sam use to order hand made Crocs from a Gent in London and they were beautiful however I'm not into paying $1200/pair(back in 1999-2000) however he made em for Monte, Retief, Darren Clarke and Paddy, Vijay and Tom Watson to name a few.
