I didn't notice that til you said something. Looks weird.

 

It's a method to further move mass around in the head.

borrowing from structural engineering, along with the fluting which provides strength, I'd guess it's also aluminum, so a bunch of weight could be redistributed. Callaway pioneered that concept with S2H2 and popularizing bore thru hosels.

As much as I love my M1 Fairway, I have to admit it's not the easiest to hit so I would be interested in doing a head swap for the M2 fairway depending how it performs.

I tried both the M1 and 915F and 915 Fd 3 woods. 915F won on feel, and forgiveness. I'm hoping that some ppl ditch their M1s so I can put out head to head with my 915D3

I don't know why everyone gets all bent about product cycles. It makes for some awesome pricing down the road.

i always buy when they have been out a while at a big discount , works for me ..

Fairway and rescue both non adjustable and feature the notched hosel from the iron to save weight to be redistributed. Driver back to single adjustment and multi material head. All look more easy to hit than M1 and hybrid/iron have definite SGI look to compete with G series/XR/AP1 etc although all do create a higher although relatively flat flight

Well, get out the lead tape grandpa!

 

45.75" long with a 46 gram grip = D3

 

Looks like it will need a bunch of lead tape and or hot melt to get the head to play 45" or less at a reasonable SW.

 

Hope to be testing it next week with some high end shafts at 45" and I'll have the lead tape ready.

sorry only just read this !! I think it was $199 from Edwin Watts in Florida while on holiday many yrs ago ..still a lot cheaper than back home !!
