Hopefully these won't be on a 3 month back order immediately out of the gate like the current black ones. Called cobra the other day and current King CB/mb heads are back ordered till may!

Yeah I just put in an order and they aren't even going to come in until mid May. Luckily I'm in the midwest so I can't even get out until near the end of March.

Just saw this on Twitter. Black or satin? I've got the black and I love the way they look but man this looks sweet...

I've got a set I have played one round with that I would regret selling but need to. I have settled into my titleist 716mbs and am gonna give them a go. Considering keeping for a backup set, however if I can't get a reasonable offer.

I change too much to list it. Working on that...

Well now that I have s400 amt shafts in my Cobras they are amazing. Didn't shaft the 3 iron though. Think I'm going to put in a hybrid shaft in it and bend it to a 2iron.

If anyone has a mb gw they don't like please let me know.

Ordered mine today! 5-gw in the mb black finish. 52 and 58 king wedges with the versatile sole. Should all be in by mid-April.

Are the king wedges available now? Or were you stating that they would be available by mid-April when your irons come?

They're not available yet. Most of what I've read is saying that they're coming in April, but the cobra rep said mine should be in for the last week of March. Could be because I'm ordering direct through the club pro.

Wanted to update on here since I finally got to use mine on the course after having them for a few months.

I would buy them again, and again.

Being from mn, I haven't gotten to play since November. I've been going to a sim every other week or so just to keep swinging, but the numbers on them aren't generally what I would be getting in real life. The distance is pretty dang close usually, besides driver for whatever reason, but the spin is always way off. It's enough to tell me my SS, LA, and somewhere in the ball park of total distance, but compared to what I get off of a trackman, there's still some data left to be desired.

I was fortunate enough to play magnolia grove (all three courses) over the week, and get to use my new irons, finally! My swing was obviously a bit out of synch compared to mid season, but I spent some time on the range and worked out some kinks before my first round, besides snaphooking my driver. That stayed with me till my last of three rounds.

I played the short course first. I chose this one because it's all par 3's, irons only, and mainly mid irons. This was my first time on a course with MB's, and I'm officially in love. These irons, as I expected, spin more than my apex pros did. Even on the 4-5-6 irons, all I was getting was 6-8 feet of roll out on the greens, if that since some were a bit soggy if the sun didn't hit them through the day. I love to work the ball, mainly left to right, (yes I know I'm an 11 HCP and yadayadayada how well can I do that), I don't hit straight shots, so this part does matter to me. There was a couple holes in particular that I worked a draw into a tucked pin location with ease with 7-8 irons. After shaking off some rust on the first 4-5 holes, which still went okay, I knew these sticks were good.

Two days later I had times booked for the two regulation courses. Both played to 6700 +\- yards from the orange tee's (one forward from the tips, equivalent of the blues at most other courses if they have black tees).

The first 18 (the falls course) I had the snaphooks, bad. I couldn't get off the tee to save my life, but still shot in the high 80's, which I decided I would take since the course rating gave me 5 strokes as it was, and it was very wet, so there was nothing easy about this round.

Went to the range to work on the driver, and finally got it down. Went to the crossings course which is the one their "competition" course (lpga, etc) and things were going much better. I teed off a little after 2pm and managed to play 27 holes and shot (by 9) 42-41-39.

With the black finish, you can tell where you hit the ball pretty easily, and there were a couple instances on mis-hits that these clubs really shined. I would've expected a much worse result than I got, yet they just didn't seem to be all that punishing.

Distance control is something I started working on towards the end of the year before I got these, and these made it easy. I always dread the 115 yard mark. It's just over my gap wedge carry, yet 15-20 yards short of my pw distance and it was a shot I had to hit 3-4 times per round, and it turned out to be no problem.

The cb's were every bit as easy to hit as my apex pros, and while the MB's are a bit harder to hit, admittedly, they are a joy to play and don't rob you of half your yardage even if your contact is only decent.

I'm not a scratch golfer, obviously, but playing to my handicap after not playing for so long, and with new clubs was something I was pretty happy with especially the +3 (with a double) on the final 9, and with none of the other clubs in the bag really excelling, these irons saved my scores. Can't wait to see how the season goes with them!

Anyone tried these with PXi shafts? I actually hit mine (stock C-taper stiff) very nicely on the range yesterday but had trouble launching the 4 iron. Was very pleased with 7-P but have some PXi shafts lol. Considering a 4 iron reshaft and then go from there but also interested in experiences or opinions as to how the King-PXi combo might work.

Previously I've asked about King MB/CB with PXi shafts. Well, I decided to find out for myself with my 4 iron (CB model). Only 1 range session in, today, but I'm :yahoo: right now. What a difference! Before I struggled with the 4 especially. Just couldn't get any trajectory and had no confidence in it, even on the range. First swing this morning, it was a whole new feeling and result. World of difference. Even softer feel, great height and held its line with a nice soft landing. Teed up, even better. Pretty little draw and cannot overstate how good it felt. My 5 through PW still have the stock KBS stiff and I haven't struggled with them as I did with the 4. That said I'm sorely tempted to at least reshaft the 5 and 6 irons now lol.

Anyway, as good as the stock set is consider this one very big thumbs up for Cobra King with PXi.

I play the AMP Cell Pro MB's with the PXI shafts. A great combination which feel amazing! I imagine they will feel great with this set too - you'll not regret it if you resift others in your set!

does anybody have pics of their black finish and how it wears? struggling to decide between chrome and black finish...

Here's Rickie's WITB after the Phoenix Open.

http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/1284566-rickie-fowler-witb-shot-at-2016-waste-management-open/

If you scroll down there's a picture of the iron face. Seems to hold up pretty good. For what it's worth, I hit the chrome version the other day (though it was from the demo cart, so screwed-in head rather than actual club) and I didn't like it as much. The black finish looks smaller, thinner top line, and feels softer to me. I struggled with which to order too, ended up deciding on the black and after hitting the chrome I think I made the right choice.

Random question on these but has anyone pulled the shafts themselves? Will certain types of heat leave some kind of mark on the black finish?

I debated on paint filling them gloss back but leaving them raw just gave it the factory look. Love them!

I pulled the heads and put a set of S400 AMT Shafts. There was no damage to the finish.

Broke down and put in an order (yay for back order...hopefully by middle of July...) for a set of 4-PW w/ the KBS c taper X's. I can't wait...especially after reading the feedback here.

I didn't find these irons to be hard to hit whatsoever. They felt in many ways like my old R9 TPs. I will definitely be stripping out the orange paint though.

Is the finish holding up well for those of you that have gamed them hard?

Yeah I am really on the fence right now with chrome or black. I really want the black but I REALLY dont want them to wear extremely fast. I know they will wear but still :)

Can yall post some wear pics?

ALso, what are yalls thoughts on Chrome vs Black in terms of feel??

I'm working on getting pictures. My Galaxy S5 camera sucks but I'm going to post pictures of my most used cobra iron and my MD3 Shamrock that I use out of the sand so you can compare.

I've had the Cobra's for 3 and a half months and the MD3'S for 2 months.

As you can see, the cobra finish holds up just fine, there's really not a whole lot of wear on them. If I wash these up they should look a bit better but the MD3 finish is wearing away a lot more. You can really tell when comparing the soles and leading edges.

Just a side note, I really like how the shamrock rusts. It adds a little flair to them in case the black and green shaft didn't do it enough already.
