Wondering if the MP-55 will eventually make its way to the US at some point this year, since it was released last year in Japan. There's also a new MP Fli-hi, but it's not forged.

Would love to see the 55s make it stateside, but I'm thinking that's wishful thinking. Might have to bite the bullet and just get a set. As for 2016 we should be seeing a new MP H6 and MP 16? It'll be two years for those lines.

Is the MP-25 very different from the 55? It's not just a different number, but a different club? In photos, they look pretty similar, but the 25s seem to have something extra in the cavity.

Different clubs all together. MP-55 have a different cut out cavity in the back than the MP-25 (cavity is hidden by a badge), as well as 2* stronger lofts. The 55 is like a classic MP club and a forged JPX club had a good looking baby. Here's a photo of the back of the MP-55...

a few balls and tees,

Ah, so the 55 is more along the line of the 54 (pocket cavity), and the 25 closer to the 64s? The badge in the 25s must be what I called "something extra in the cavity." Have you tried them both? Any difference in that rather hard to define category of "feel"?

Haven't hit the 25, but the 55 was sweet. Almost a game improvement iron with its strong lofts and forgiveness, but also with the buttery Mizuno feel. Not quite the MP-5 feel, but way easier on mishits.

I love my Legacy Blacks and don't see myself changing until I wear out the grooves, but if I had to change sets, I would go for the MP-55, especially since there is only a small up charge for the Modus3 125 shaft.

Where can I find a set or info on the MP55? There isn't anything on the Mizuno website.

Thank you

Feels nice, but been too cold lately to get out to the range long enough to say if it will be in the bag this season. Camera battery is dead, so here's a pic I pulled from the web. It looks like a MP-H5, but with a wider sole and less junk in the trunk. Also different materials, stainless (cast) body and a maraging face.

The Mizuno Japan website has the 55s. Use the google translator for the site. Rauken also has some information and the opportunity to order them.

Indeed very similar to the H5s. The Fli-Hi is a good candidate for a nice hybrid shaft. Where did you pick your's up if you don't mind me asking? Also just saw that Fairwaygolfusa has MP 55s listed on the site. He gets a lot of clubs straight out of Japan. Will have to swing by the store to see if he has demos or will bring any in.

Thanks for the answer; I haven't been able to try much of the new Mizuno offerings. I made it to a demo a golf shop (golf 5) at an awful little range, but as I had my little daughter with me, I didn't get much chance to hit anything beyond the MP-5s.

Basically, yes but not forged and a little wider sole. Also they are made to match the face progression and lofts of the MP-5, MP-4 and MP-64 series for those who want to play these as a long iron replacement.

Better look at address?

Not a fan of the bigger sole idea

I'm also having a hard time believing they would release something that looks identical?
