Whats is the best method to restore the showroom look?

I have purchased a 2.6, a squareback and a fastback. I practiced with each one for a few hours and decided on the fast.

Now the other two look worn...no dings..nothing negative at all but the grass and swirl marks on the sole make them look more worn than they are. What is the best method to polish those swirls out?

Any ideas?...I hope this is the right forum for this ?

try some acetone on a soft cloth. just wipe it across the sole gently, it doesnt take much. be sure not to press it into the paint fill. it works really well.

Do not do that. it will be extremely hard not to mess up the paint fill.

yeah do not use acetone , i have heard that plain white tooth paste will polish it. also get some sewing machine oil to keep it from rusting

Acetone?...all I can think of is wiping away RED on a white towel

I actually think acetone might work but just a little.

 

I redid the paintfill on my fastback and I had a REALLY though time taking the paint out.. tried acetone, thinner and a couple of other things.. it took a while.. a few months ago I redid a select newport 2 and the paintfill came out really easy.. not with the fastback..

 

Having said that.. maybe flitz will work better on scratches.

Stainless will take on a patina over time. Let nature take it's course.

 

Otherwise, you'll be polishing it after every round.

acetone does work and it wont remove the paint fill as long as you dont go crazy with it. it takes a lot of acetone and a lot of rubbing to take out the paintfill. all you would do is put a small amount on a paper towel or rag and wipe it across the sole. dont rub it continuously, just a quick wipe across. i've done it plenty of times on plenty of putters and it has never taken any paint out. it hasnt even dulled the paint. if you dont feel comfortable with it then dont do it, i was just making a suggestion based on what has worked for me.

Have you done it to a Studio Select? The paint in the Studio Select is very easily smeared with acetone. Moreso than any putter I've ever had. I do not recommend it to remove light scratches.

I have used this method a lot for irons, wood soles, & putters.

 

Take a really fine scotchbrite pad (The green one not blue) and rub with the grain of the stainless. The only thing you have to be careful with is the inserts on the studio selects.

I wouldnt use acetone unless I were cleaning paintfill. TOOTHPASE.....It works great on polishing your clubs as well as your white golf shoes. My son cleans his shoes and his putter. It works great

use metal wax and you can find it at www.metalwax.com...........nothing better for a beautiful shine!! Must be good as they use it on airplanes.

I use MAAS metal polishing cream, it takes off all of the tarnish. i clean the putter with toothpaste then rub the polish into the putter and then clean the polish off with toothpaste again looks brand new.
