Problems removing SM5 paint fill

Alright guys I am removing paint fill on my ap2s and sm5 black wedges to repaint them all to match. I used Citristrip to remove all the paint from the ap2s and worked like a charm. They are all ready for paint. Now on my black sm5, well that is another story. Let the citristrip sit on for multiple times and still cant get the paint out at all! Is there another option or any reason for this? Any help would be appreciated! Also got some enamel testors model paint to use. Anybody recommend acrylic or enamel? There is so many mixed reviews

I had the same issue with mine. I stripped my wedges raw, and redid all the paint fill. Had no problems with the white paint, just bubbled up and came out with ease as it should. The gold was a different story and was a total nightmare.

In the end I had to use a very stiff bristled brush along with a thumbtack and multiple coats of the stripper to remove it. It also spread the gold paint around the club head and I had to go back through with the paint stripper on a rag and wipe clean.

It most certainly is possible, just requires a bit of elbow grease and some patience. This is how mine ended up turning out.

I used citristrip on my sm5's and it work great and got every little bit of painful out on everything except some of the edges of the "Titleist" and the bounce number on the sole. I went back and bought the higher paint strip gel that isn't recommended for use indoors. It just works better.

Gotcha I got some dental picks I used and managed to get it out with citristrip this morning but boy was it time consuming!!

Haha yes yes the gold omg that was a nightmare! Use dental picks next time they work really well and not as dangerous as a thumbtack! Btw those look sweet!! What type of paint you use? Enamel? Here is a quick update on mine. Going to put another coat on eventually as I'm playing this afternoon and doubt it will be set up! Still need to paint titleist back to white

Better photo outside in natural light

Dig those color combinations! I actually used a permanent oil based paint pen. first time I ever used that paint and was curious how it would hold up. It hasn't shown any wear yet and I've played a bunch of rounds and am at the range 3-5 times a week as well. Kind of surprised how well its held up to be honest, might just be the placement of the paint fill areas, who knows.

Thanks man they match my red bag and green grips!! Ahhh gotcha I'm curious how this enamel paint will stand up! Yeah the paint fill on these seems to be in an ok place to not destroy it.

Luke did you do anything to the black? It looks much softer than my black one, is it just the lighting?

Nope could be lighting and I have also played with them for a year so the sole is light gray now and face is a lighter color as well.

Citrusstrip does not work super well IMO. Now, the aircraft paint stripper gel that they sell at auto parts stores - that stuff is legit. Citrusstrip did nothing for the fill on my wedges - had to scrup and pick at it. Got the aircraft stuff, put it on there and just rinsed after letting it sit for 10 minutes - paint was gone. Did not hurt the finish one bit.

Yeah citristrip did really well on my irons but terrible on the wedges! Wonder why that is? They use different paint??

Pretty sure they use different paint to withstand the abuse that most wedges see.
