Is Flynn Golf still in business?

Recommended Posts

Trying to order some irons for my soon to be 11 yr old and their "new" website has been "in the process of launching" for a couple months now. What gives? I emailed them tonight so hopefully I'll hear something Mon or Tues...

Subject: VT MAX Velocity

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

We would be happy to assemble a set of clubs of your choosing for your daughter. Matching the lengths of USK TS 54 is no problem.

While our new website has been subject to multiple extended delays, all of our VT Max Velocity products are currently available.

As a first step please see below.

Also, please see the attached photos of some of the VT MAX Velocity products; including our new shafts.

Here is a brief description of our new VT MAX Velocity clublines.

Our shafts have been structurally and graphically designed in collaboration with UST Mamiya's technical engineers in the US and Japan.

We will select from our range of junior shafts including: 33", 36", 39", 40", 42", 42" firm driver / woods shafts.

Irons / Hybrids shafts are available in 33, 36 and 38", 38" firm, 38" stiff.

Worth mentioning is that all 5 UST graphite shaft colors (blue, red, green, orange, pink) are available for all players in all lengths.

True Temper and VT MAX junior steel irons shafts are chrome, and either steel or graphite can be complimented with any of 10 grip colors.

The clubs are designed to be USGA conforming and the new wedges have also been retooled and will feature CNC milled face with premium Chrome Mist finish.

The drivers and metalwoods have been completely retooled and feature PVD face and are available with Pearl White crown finish or Tour Black.

As mentioned, we are glad to offer any club or club combination that you might have in mind.

We will select the appropriate clubheads and shafts/flex, so only your color selections would be required (and as an option your preferred lengths which in this case would be USK TS 54 lengths).

If you would like to place an order, please reply with any club combination you may be interested in (with or without bag), and I will email an itemized price quote for you to consider.

When an order is placed I will request your player's color selections; plus the inputs as shown below. Swing video can be helpful if available.

Best regards,

Mike Flynn

Order placed! 5-GW +3/4" since he grips down and maybe so I can squeeze 2 years out of them. $225 plus shipping for custom irons, not too shabby! Way cooler than what I was swinging at 11 I promise! I did love my Hogan Radial Jr. though...

Yes, he hits the 16* farther, the 14.5* lower with more control. He got the 3 Deep first and has confidence in it. It's what works for him so I'm not messing with it. As for the Scotty, I did a lot of horse trading and wheelin' dealin'. I'm in it for way less than $300. Plus, I don't spend my money on much and when I do, it's spent wisely. Buy once, cry once. He'll use that putter through college, maybe longer, Good Lord willing. All I have to do is change the shaft...

How did he do with them?

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

He hit them well for the first round of the year. Still a little rusty so his swing was off after 5 months of no golf but he hit some really good iron shots. We'll know more once PGA JLG starts this week and he gets back into his golf groove. You thinking about ordering a set?

So I will throw one more review / praise for the work that Mike does. I now have an 11 year old and ordered my first set of clubs from Mike when he was 9. For his birthday this year I upgraded him to a set that fits all of his growth (and now little brother gets to move into the first set). As for the clubs, my Son plays on the local "Sneds Tour" here in the Nashville area and I see several of the better juniors all using the velocity irons (and major OEM woods). We also use the Velocity driver, 3wood, and hybrid and he couldn't be happier - he mentioned to me that this was the best birthday present I could have gotten him :-). After a few of the tournaments he has played this Summer, other Fathers have asked about where I got his clubs. I truly believe that these are a notch above the kids box sets, as Mike will work with you to get a club that fits (I took measurements of my Son and sent him videos of his swing. Was debating going with steel iron shafts but Mike talked me out of it and my Son is hitting his irons so much longer and higher now). Being able to pick shaft color, grip color, and the color of the woods is a pretty neat extra as well.

Not only that, but to revive a post that had been dead for over three years, for your first post, is quite the feat.

I will say I love Flynn and his products. My son has been playing so much better with the Flynn set he has than he ever did with the US Kids clubs he had.

Driver: TaylorMade SIM 8* (standard setting) with MCA Tensei AV Raw Orange 75TX at 44.5"
3W: TaylorMade M5 15* (standard setting) with Oban Devotion 8 O5 at 42"
Hybrid: PXG Gen 2 0317X 19* (standard setting) with Oban Kiyoshi Purple Hybrid O5 at 39.5"
4i-9i: Callaway '18 Apex MB's with KBS C-Taper 130X at 1/4" long
46: Callaway JAWS MD5 10S
50: Callaway JAWS MD5 10S

Better customer service than mike? nah not buying it. Most everyone on here has or tried Flynn to say he has bad customer service can't see that happening. Now are his clubs better than USKG thats a topic of debate on here. But best of luck.
