tour ad in fairway woods

2 novembers ago i acquired a tour stage x drive 701 3 wood with a di-6s in it. for the first 3 months i couldn't hit it to save my life..... well that and i reinvented my swing from scratch. these last 6 months have been superb with it. the 3 wood was literally my go to club even when my swing was in the pooper. so now my problem is that my swing speed has increased tremendously because i changed it. everything in my bag is x flex except the 3 wood..... which was weird because i hit it fine till i learned something new 3 lessons ago and now im over the swing speed to fit that shaft. which causes my inconsistent flights (and no its not my swing.....)

 

my coach believes i should have a heavier shaft in my wood than my driver which i agree on......kinda.....

 

problem: i have a bb7x in my driver and it is perfect. i want a di7x or di8x..... but im not sure which to choose. if any of you guys play these shafts in your 3 woods please tell me about them and how they preform!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

i know the 8x will be harder to hit than the 7x so which ?

If you have a BB 7X in your driver I would defintely go with the DI 8X in the 3 wood, if you can handle the BB in your driver, the DI 8X should be right up your alley in the 3 wood

According to their website, the 7x launches higher than the 8x...I just recently switched to the 7x in my 4 wood (for trial) in an effort to get more launch from the fairway. The 8x is pretty flat (for me).

Apparently the Tour AD - GT is the best match in a FW if you're using a Tour Ad - BB in your driver .

Is there somewhere that you can try both ?

I would definitely recommend the 8X in either the DI or GT .

I play the bb7x in my driver and 8x in my fw. If the 7x works well for you in the driver, I'd suggest the 8x in the fw as the first test. I have the DI 105 in my hybrid and love it for that club. But didn't like the flight DI 8x as much as the BB in the fw.

The DI and the GT both feel and flighted the same for me. However the GT spins a good bit more. Just FYI that's how it was for me. I love the DI 8x and the MT 8x in fairway woods!
