I'd probably split my time between SoCal, Florida and Hawaii. I guess however much time in each place to avoid paying state income tax in CA or HI.

I've wondered about the traffic in Jupiter.

 

Naples is great but has turned into a disaster traffic-wise. Everyday is like Panama City Beach during spring break week.

 

Jupiter isn't a big city but in the winter the population does surge a bit so the traffic gets a little bit worse but nothing crazy. This is assuming you're staying in town and not going on 95 during rush hour.

Probably best weather in FL....Winter is perfect...warmer than Orlando. Tampa, Jax by several degrees and Summers are cooler by several degrees because it is on or near water where the GulfStream enters the US from the Atlantic Ocean. Also many private (30+) private clubs with great practice facilities and privacy. Also can play with many other tour pros in area. Many of these guys love boating and fishing and this is the prime area for that with the Jupiter inlet. A private airport is 15 minutes away in addition to WPB international AP. A short of the top of my head list of tour pro's in Jupiter area:

 

Rory Mcilroy, Keegan Bradley, Ricky Fowler, Will MacKenzie, Charl Swartzel, Lee Westwood, Mark Calcavecchia, Ernie Els, Dustin Johnson, Dan Berger, Brooks Koepka, Michelle Wie, Stacey Lewis, Robert Allenby, Briny baird, Jamie Lovemark, Camillo Villegas, Tiger (Jupiter Island), Morgan Hoffman, Bud Cauley, Scott Langley, Steve marino, Will Wilcox...and probably 5-10 more i cant remember. I go to a couple of the few public courses (Abacoa) and you will see 2-3 webcom or mini tour guys striping balls. Fun to watch and hard to concentrate because its hard to not watch how well these guys can hit the ball.

 

other thing and this may be the same everywhere but the pro's get membership (or can play pretty much anytime) at any of these private clubs at no cost so the club can use their name as a member to entice wealthy private members.

 

As a side i am hitting balls prior to playing at Jonathan's Landing and i hear some guy behind me cracking irons like very few people can...you know the sound of a great ball striker....and there is Ricky Fowler throwing darts at different flags.

 

Anyway it seems like a lot of pros come or like it here...maybe like to be around there fellow pros. The tour is really a small world.

Sounds like Jupiter, FL is the place to be, but I would also consider Vegas.

Also, this was my Parent's home from 1976-1994-

 

I would buy it back, irregardless of the price-

 

I've got a lot of great memories from this home!!

Very cool looking house. In Pittsburgh I'm guessing. Was it designed by anyone special. There are a lot of homes like that in the Detroit area and a lot designed by a famous architect from around here

Hey Bro, I hope all's well!! Yea, it's in the Pittsburgh borough of Fox Chapel, a small northern suburb. The architect was really no one special though he did some additions on the Mellon home and a few others however he really is of no renown. It was a "warm" home though I think that that has more to do with the inhabitants than the structure itself.

These are Places for me, Linville or Banner Elk(Linville Golf Club or Elk River) or Hickory( Catawba CC, Mimosa Hills) during the summer and Kiawah(Ocean Course)-Charleston area (Yeaman's Hall) during the Spring and Orlando during the winter. I would also spend some time in Southern Pines(Mid Pines,Pine Needles). The Carolina's is where I would spend the most time.
