Skechers golf.

Recommended Posts

The go golf bionics had me intrigued last year. And odd looker but comfy by all accounts I could find on the Internet. This year the Kuchers are out and not really my cup of tea but also are a model called the Eagle that look great as a casual shoe. I keep wondering will Skechers stick around in golf and are they a legit option for us die hards.

Anyone try any of the offerings for golf? I have never owned any shoe from skechers.

From what I've read, they are on the wider side much like true links in standard form

I've sold golf shoes about 2 and a half years at a very notable off course golf shop in Michigan and Skechers is making some great shoes this year. They are durable, super comfortable, and great looking. Sketchers will be on my feet in 2015 no doubt!

I like the look of the Kuchar's but curious how thick the midsole is? I wear sketchers daily as work shoes and have one of the few with little to no midsole.

Ping driver
Taylormade fairways
Adams irons
Vokey and CG wedges
Yes! putter
W/S and Vice balls
Nike shoes

Just curious, which ones are you looking at this year?

I've posted in the past about the GoGolf's. They are a fine shoe, and every bit as high quality as the equivalent shoe from any other manufacture (Footjoy Countour series, for example). I'd love to give the New Balance Minimus line a go as well, but what holds me back from those (or another pair of Skechers) is the visual looks and appeal of the shoe. I am a huge proponent of low/zero drop shoes with a foot shaped toe box. But could they at least make a shoe with more subtle branding?!?! The NB Minimus have that gigantic "N" on the side, and the Skechers are a few generations behind in the style department. The pair you posted looks nice, but more as a jeans/sweater shoe, not a golf shoe.

My GoGolfs, as opposed to he poster above, have been great shoes. Nice, wide forefoot, waterproof, light weight, plenty of tracton, lasted over a year, and I am tough on shoes. I walk almost exclusively, am 6'2", 215 lbs, wear a size 13-14, and not easy on my footwear. I do not think you are taking a quality risk going with either brand.

I just hope that more options are available in the future with lower drop and wider toeboxes. As much as I love the way a high end Footjoy or Ecco look, I could not imagine playing 18 in a pair. I'll be wearing my trail running shoes before that. My fear with the new Skechers is that they are getting away from the zero drop philosophy and moving towards a more "traditional" offering.

I had the chance to spend some time in the Skechers booth at the PGA Merchandise Show and these shoes are the real deal. Our head pro is a very conservative and traditional guy who has been a Footjoy man for ages. He is bringing these into his shop and will most likely also wear them.

They are fantastically comfortable and fit true to size. I normally wear a 11.5 wide or 12 standard width and the 11.5 in the Pro range were perfect.

The range is extensive, high quality yet really affordable.

The Skechers Go Golf Pro are some much more comfortable than the other 4 i tried on which were Nike LC4, Puma Ignite, ECCO BIOM and UA. The $220 UA's are nice and close to the skeechers and definietly a nice looking shoe. FJ's are just plain ugly so I don't waste time with those. The NIKE LC4 were probably the worst quality all around of the ones I tried.
