Woods at top ot bottom of carry bag

Which do you prefer? Do you place your woods at the top, bottom or side of your carry/push cart bag? Which do you think is more common from personal observation on the course?

Top. I would think that they would get bumped every time you took an iron out, or put one back in your bag if the woods were at the bottom.

On the side, that's where the OGIO Wood-e club divider system puts them. Love it.

+1 and any incidental offense is fine. :)  lol  Actually the question is where do you put your PUTTER in the bag?  It's the most used single club.

TOP, much better balance, however I do like that Ogio system,

may have to get one.

Only one answer. At the top next to the strap attachment and the putter. The only possible exemption is if you use a Mk I Ping Moon bag with no divider in the top cuff. Even then you should still make an effort to get them uppermost as you carry it though.

Top, if I see someone that that them reversed, I tell them they should switch them. Even if you have sock headcovers, your graphite shafts will get dinged by the irons. You should have your clubs long on top and short on the bottom. The opposite of a mullet. If you have short on top and long on the bottom, I'm gonna call you Billy Ray and assume you're a hack...

So since i am an odd ball out, why do you use the top?

 

 

EDIT: When I had my stand bag, they were on top. but when I got my staff bag it was just easier that they were far away from the handle (bottom slots)

It just looks right aesthetically to me to have the woods at the top when you carry the bag. Also, as was touched on above, it seems daft to have your irons and wedges clonking against the shafts of your driver and 3 wood. Aside from that, in the days before putter covers became the norm, I didn't want my putter to be getting dings in the topline and face by clanking against any other clubs - hence it made sense to put in next to the woods at the top of the bag.

 

For what it's worth, I also hate to see a big staff bag being carried with all the clubs in one side of it next to the caddie's body.
