Redwood is the best

Karsten Anser is too light

If price is a problem buy a used Anser from the 1980's on Ebay rather than the Karsten Anser

Driver: Titleist  Tsi2
FW's: Callaway Rogue 4w
Hybrids: X2 Hot 3&4
Irons: Ping G410 Reg Graphite 5-UW
Wedges: Callaway MD3 56
Handicap 9
Putter: Zing2 BeCu among others

what do you not like about the karsten?

I have one too and while I liked the karsten initially I have since bought a bettinardi BC series and I prefer the softer feel of the Carbon steel and fit face. I too wonder if the redwood rolls softer but don't have a shop on island that sells em to even roll a few with.

redwood is stainless steel, so it definitely won't be softer

Not what others have said...but milled 303 stainless vs cast ???steel with an insert on the rear of the club. Not sure theres a defeinitely in there, but ethe karsten feels alright just a bit muted vs soft for me when compared to my BC2

oh, i was comparing it to the BC.

but yes you are right, redwood isn't 'definitely' harder than the karsten

I used a Redwood Anser and a Zing Karsten and rotated them for a while.

IMO the Redwood is a much better putter, mainly down the the feel and consistency. The Karstens are very good and probably one of the best value putters on the market, but if you can afford the extra cash for a Redwood, I would go with that.

  • 1 month later...
The karsten feels lighter than the redwood for some reason though....

I guess thats why I put lead tape on it lol, If I had my choice I would go with the redwood

just plain nicer, milled, stainless steel etc.

Weight of the heads vs. each other is exactly the same: 340g.

Agreed about the nicer part regarding the Redwood.
