Stupid Question about a Hybrid Shaft

Hi all, new poster but have always lurked the forums as a non-user. My question today is regarding the reshafting of my Taylormade Stage 1 RBZ hybrid. Won it at a tournament a few years back, and am finally getting around to putting a stiff shaft in (came regular off the prize table). Taylormade pre-owned is sending me an Aldila RIP 85 g free of charge so I figured what the hell, but its made for a 2011 Rescue TP. I assumed it would fit without a problem, can someone confirm this for me?

My other concern is that my current shaft is 65g, how much of a difference will this make to an 85g? Since the shaft was free I'm not committed to replacing it if it doesn't make sense, but I know absolutely nothing about shafts.

If it was for a 2011 Rescue TP then the only issue is that it will likely come with an adapter installed on it so you'll likely have to get the adapter pulled to install on the RBZ hybrid. Tip size should not be a problem, it is probably a .355 tp so will just likely need to shim it to fit in the .370 RBZ rescue hossel.

Weight being a problem or not is going to be dependent on your swing and preferences. What shaft weights are you using in your irons, woods, and any other rescue/hybrid you might have? That might tell us something.

I have a Fujikura Speeder 57 in my R15, a Kuro Kage 70g in my 3 Wood, and my iron shafts are TT DG Pro S300 118-122.5g

You never can know for sure until you try it but just based on that shaft weight progression, I would not expect a hybrid shaft in the 80 gm range to likely be a problem.

Now it does have a bit stiffer profile than what you might be used to so it might feel a bit on the firm side - but that may not necessarily be a problem. Again, only way to tell is to give it a try.
