Putters - "The Sickness"

I spent about 3 years as a devout hockey style putter and never looked at another putter. In the early fall, I decided to go back to "conventional" putting style just for a change .... and that's when i hit me. I had the uncntrollable urge to have ALL the nice looking putters on the market!! This is a terrible sickness. I even spent time on The Cameron Collector where there are a lot of people with "the sickness" .... the sickness and money.

In those 90 days I probably only played 10 rounds or so. I started bringing 2 putters each round and playing a front 9 putter and a back 9 putter.

...and I just placed an order with my pro shop for the Cameron 2008 My Girl and 2008 Holiday putters.

 

It's bad and my wallet shows but I cannot stop. Next order of business is to get a Byron 006. Anyone selling one for a good price???

My Byron 006 slowed down my sickness. Can't stop using it. One of the best.

 

But I don't have a 007 a**. Would like to try one of these. Always somthing right?

I thought rotating the 3 I have right now was bad - good luck on finding "the one". I am still searching for it but when I find it, it will be in the bag for awhile. It took me alomst a year to get my irons right. I don't change drivers, hybrids, or wedges (or irons now). The putter should be a good friend and something you can trust under pressure. I really want to find ONE and not settle on something that is so so just because I do not want to shop around anymore. I am left handed so the shops have crap for selection. I buy and sell putters to try and find the best one. I lose a little money on each transaction but not terrible. I just won a Cameron Pro Platinum Del Mar 3 and it will be here Monday. It is my first Scotty so I am excited.

You guys were talking about the Byron 006...im giving my transition set to my dad and i need a putter...that putter looks gourgeous...is it good?

WOW, and I thought that I had it bad. I just traded two putters for a nice, used BETTINARDI A-02 milled mallet putter today. I also have a BETTINARDI C-01 and a NIKE T-100 OZ, along with a few others. It is indeed a sickness, although I'm down to five putters now.

Not trying to jack the thread but it got me thinking. Say you find "The One". Do you buy a back-up? Do you think that the exact same make, model at the same specs, basically identical in every way, could be a worthy replacement for "The One" if it were damaged, lost or stolen? Or would it still not be the same?
