Northgate Country Club

Anyone have any info on the conditions of the course and clubhouse at Northgate? My wife and I are thinking about joining a club in the near future. I know Northgate has dropped their initiation fee and monthly dues to attract new customers. Also they offer playing privileges at walden. The neighborhood around Northgate seems to be not getting much better so that concerns us. But if the course is kept in good shape we may pull the trigger. Any info/help?

I played there about a year ago w/ my brother in law, he got me & a buddy on there. It was in great condition, my buddy still raves about it. Greens quick & true, nice fairways. Robt. Von Hagge course that will test you. If you lived in near that area & could go to walden as a bonus, could be very good deal. Plus the 19th hole took care us as well!

I was a member for a little over a year and I left last September. The only reason I left the club was that we moved to Kingwood. The course was always in good shape and the greens were always perfect (the get a little dry in the summer). I wish the club would add more of a sports bar or have a place to relax and watch a game. Price for membership was great and overall, me and my family enjoyed the club. I don't think the neighborhood is what it used to be, but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

i would recommend it. 27 holes with a lot of character. Never gets old and is challenging.

I have not played there in about 2 years, but it was fine. I would not worry about the surrounding neighborhood. Just be glad you are only getting a membership there and not stuck with a $2MM house you cant sell in there.
