Waterproof pants with some shape to it

I tried some waterproof pants from Sunice, Golfsmtih, and Zero Restriction. I have no doubt that they will be waterproof as they have all the plasticky Sarane Wrap quality to it. But they don't seem like real pants. I need something that I can wear to the club house (not as a cover-up) to my cotton pants when it rains.

 

Do you know of any brand that has belt loops, quiet when walking, not like Sarane Wrap that clings to every curve of your thigh and behind (not very attractive), and not too puffy and so huge in the rise (from inseam to waist) like the ones from Zero Restriction?

 

I guess I am looking for more conventional looking pants that are either waterproof or repellent.

The only rain pants that really work for me are the FootJoy Dryjoys. A bit expensive, but worth it IMO.

I thought rain pants were meant to wear as rain gear, not as normal pants to go play in.  Maybe I have been doing it wrong all this time......

+1 on the FootJoy Dryjoys. I have a pair and I love them. I wear them if its cold and windy and they work great in the rain also.

You could always just scotch-guard some khaki's like I used to do when I went skiing. :D

my buddies have a different looking rainsuit from sunice, i think thats how it's pronounced! not saran wrappy at all and they look really good. they almost look like a track suit, they look real comfortable too. they both swear by them!

Check out this pants, I havent tried one yet but from the website it looks promising. They will be showing at the PGA show so i will check them out in Orlando. Ita supposed to be a hybrid pant, 100% waterproof but fabric like a normal pant.

The new adidas soft shell pants are money. They look like a pair of black slacks, belt loops and all.

I want the new Adidas pants, but can't bring myself to spring for them since my Nikes are so nice.

ZR has about 4 to 5 different styles and some do have belt loops. They also fit differently, depending on the style. Personally, I'm a big ZR fan and don't feel their stuff is plasticy at all - just the opposite, really. But if you truly are looking for a tailored look, you may find only water resistant, not water proof.

Galvin Green are really great waterproofs very popular in Europe and thety are waterproof! Only thing is I do not know if they do the style you are after or are available in states.

Probably just the internet. A friend of mine stocks it at his pro shop in Australia and I've gotten some through him. Nice stuff. It runs a little small though.

Boo was wearing them at the Chevron yesterday, and they looked OK. I think they are called StormCore.

I just received mine and disappointed big time. They make so much noise when I walk, I don't know how tour players concentrate on their golf when it's that noisy. Maybe I have thick thighs... I felt some heat brewing up between my legs with all that rubbing. I felt like I was wearing really really tight corduroy pants that rubbed together the whole time....

First off, I hate rain pants. I hate the feeling of wearing 8 pairs of pants and I hate wearing pants with elastic waist bands. I know before I go out that the ground is going to be mucky or if there is a chance of rain, so I prefer to tee off and not have to pull some pants over my pants. That being said, I wear the Lindeberg troyan & troon pants all the time. The noise is something I got used to a long time ago and they are great in a light drizzle or a morning round when everything is covered in dew. In the event that I have to play in the rain (like the SF city championships every year), I like the north face liberation pant. It's the only pant that keeps me warm in a downpour, you could get hit with a fire hose & you wouldn't get wet.
