just ordered and received the new CBs. How do you like em? Maiden voyage tomorrow!

 

They are utterly fantastic. I use to be an AP2 guy religiously but would sometimes struggle with distance control. I feel really confident with them and feel like I'm more dialed in with distances. They're just as forgiving as the previous AP2 generations I feel.

First time hitting the 3 TMB on the course today. Everything else has been on the range. I hit it on the 8th hole of s local course for position and hit a SHANK!! Then I hit it into the 16th par 5 from 235 and hit a laser right at the pin but flew the green.

 

I struggled off the tee all day but scrambled to a nice 72

My bag has been flipped around so many times this year it was beginning to make my head spin. I finally decided that I like playing good golf more than I like ho'ing so I made a commitment to play one set of clubs.

 

I'm really excited about how my bag looks now. The best I ever played was with a set of AP2's with Project X 6.5 Flighted +1/2". For some reason I got away from that set and hadn't played a set of irons with Project X in over 5 years until today. I reshafted my Apex Pro 16 and MD3's with some 6.5 Flighted and it was like shaking hands with an old friend. I hit some shots today that I haven't really been able to hit in years.

 

The real "ah-ha!" Moment came today with a 56* wedge from 86 yards to a tucked pin. I hit this perfect low flighted wedge that landed about 10ft behind the hole, took a skip and spun back to a tap in. I'm so excited to play tomorrow.

Yes. The quality is top notch but the customer service leaves more to be desired.

You still playing all the stuff you were fit into?

 

I dabble with changing my putter to the SGC I ordered. I also have an older 3 deep that I like.

For the most part yes. I'm dabbling with a different Apex Utility iron and a few putters. I love the RSX I got fit into but when my stroke goes sour I like to go with something face balanced. The Apex UT I was fit for plays great but I freak myself out thinking I need to swing hard to elevate the Tour V 120x that's in it when I really don't. I have an identical one with the KBS Prototype shaft we got that I can flight much easier.

Decided to experiment a bit and took an extra shaft I had laying around and shortened it to 44.25" and put an extra 10g weight I had into the head replacing the 2g weight originally in it to get swing weight back to normal.

 

Playing specs are...

 

Epic SubZero 9* w/ Diamana Ahina 60x @44.25" with homemade animal style 10g x2 weights.

 

 

I hit 10 balls with it on the range today and just hammered it and it was accurate. We'll see how it translates to the course and serif it lasts.

I had a tour AD TP in my rogue fairway. I don’t like the TP as much when the weight goes up. I actually like the PING tour shaft quite a bit so it’s going to stay for now. I’m just not good enough to tell any huge difference between the two.

There isn’t any huge difference between the two. The Tour 65/80 happen to be a wonderful fit for me, as well.
