My little backyard course

Some of you may remember the picture of my homemade putting green I put up on here back around March. Well, little exclusive update for WRXers only.

Nobody has seen Cherry Hill Golf Club, an ultra-exclusive private club that even Augusta members wish they belonged to. It's situated along an acre of rolling hills among large oak, apple, and cherry trees (big and small). I am here today to bring you into the super private world of such a club as Cherry Hill.

Cherry Hill Golf Club has two great golf holes built by the renowned golf course designer Vince (aka italianstallion) who came to Albany, NY after hearing that golf mogul Vince (aka italianstallion) wanted a distinct club that would rival Augusta National. With the two hole course dubbed Cherry Hill Golf Club, Vince and Vince have no doubt acomplished the distinct part of those requirements. The rest is up to the members and the pros who will play it to see if it's better than Augusta.

Here are the pics with the hole descriptions (descriptions made by a pro golf hole description person)


1st Hole, Par 4, 62 yards

The opening hole at Cherry Hill is not for the faint of heart. The player must negotiate many hazards to get to the landing area 34 yards away. Go right and you are dead (No, seriously, my dad will kill you), left is OB, and if you go long the terrain slopes away into the woods. Once you are safely in the landing area, a simple chip is all that is left to have a putt at birdie. But, be careful on your approach as the green slopes quickly away from you, a very hard shot to hold.





2nd Hole, Par 3, 36 yards

The second hole is a great finishing hole to cap off your long day here at Cherry Hill. This uphill par 3 is not only the signature hole, but also where the course get its name from, due to the cherry trees next to the tee box and a few yards in front. On this hole, go left off the tee and you are dead (Last I knew dad also doesn't seem like golf balls through car windows) and short right is OB. Long and right is okay, but you will have a group of large oak, apple, and cherry trees that you'll need to navigate to get back to the green. The green slopes from back to front, so the best play is a high shot that lands just before the green and trickles on, or a shot that lands on the front of the green, and rolls just a bit past the hole.

No problem with real golf balls. Remember, only the best will play Cherry Hill, so shanks shouldn't be an issue to worry about!

 

But yeah, real balls. I can't say I haven't hit the house, just don't tell the old man cuz he wasn't home. I play hole #2 when he isn't around basically.

Have not hit the AC unit yet, but yet is the key word.

 

Truly, the owner wanted to spend more money on the clubhouse than the course. Clubhouse was built first, golf course second, so there was only room for 2 holes. So yes, the dinning hall is not only huge, but really fancy with some great gourmet food.

Since it does not appear that usng the driver is needed, I bet Tiger Woods shows up wanting a FREE ROUND. Great course!

That is beautiful, but I noticed there was no mention of the abundant wildlife which many of the exclusive courses boast. Hawk, fox, deer, gator, yorkie?

Its 17 by 12. Not very big but its great for practicing those ever important money putts.
