I love the armlock putter, but Bettinardi did it well with the Kuchar model.

Flintof1 made a Cameron into and arm lock using a new grip made for that purpose. Shaft goes in at an angle to help with setup without adding a ton of loft like the bettinardis have. I've got a dass tour stock model 2 but it's nothing too exciting, same head shape just a slightly different finish.

Here is a Kombi I made. I have a putter loft and lie machine, and I bent a double bend ski pole shaft to give me about 1.5 shaft offset, 43.5" length, 7 degrees loft, and 72 degree lie angle. The length is just a little below my elbow. In my experience, it is a little easier to keep contact with my arm with the shaft a little longer (because arms are wider closer to our elbows).

Forgot to post a pic of this when you first started the thread. No modification necessary other than extending the shaft. Like Swiz said, this grip's bore is angled so that you neither have to modify the loft of the putter nor accommodate for a forward press

Not sure where the $500 number came from as there are no arm lock putters out there that cost $500. You can find a metal x odyssey arm lock for cheap. I currently use a betti kuchar arm lock and I really like it (I also believe that bettinardis arm lock is the best as it has the perfect combo of loft and offset unlike other companies or tossing some grip on the club). I have been using it nearly since it came out and I believe my putting is much better since starting.

I didn't think there would be too many out there...but I also wasn't expecting zero

I posted this thread before. And I did get one comment with a pretty cool mann made.

Gotcha. Only lock to find one to try will most likely be a odyssey works. I have never seen one in a store either. For a cheap test a metal x or buy one of those arm lock grips and try it. I still think a betti is the best you can get if you decide to move forward.

Depending on the recommendation of the fitter, if i have a face balance stroke theres a good chance ill buy the bettinardi. If i have an arc stroke, probably go with a byron morgan custom either 006 or 615.

Dont blame you. One of the only things that could get the arm lock out of my hands would be a custom byron or something along those lines.

I created a thread that's now buried in the putter forum that reviewed the grip.

http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/1246502-my-scotty-golo-arm-lock-conversion-experiment/

Not trying to attract any attention to myself at all, just want to create more awareness about this innovative product. It really has saved my putting.

FYI, I bought both the full size (20") CVTR and (17") length AL2, both arm lock models of grips which they offer. I was much more satisfied with the AL2 model as its smaller and obviously weighs less. It felt more natural using it, like an extension of my arm.

Will the grip make the putter longer or do you have to change the shaft?
[/quote]

You would have to extend the shaft but not replace it entirely. It's a pretty quick job most proficient shops can do, but anyone could do it themselves. it's just gluing in an extension piece in the butt end and cutting it to length.

I had the same concerns and partially why I opted for the 17" version which weights 295g. But remember the grip of the putter is affixed to your arm. So the heavier grip doesn't have the same bearing on feeling the putter head as does counterbalancing. Remember the point of dual balancing is to raise the balance point of your putter to simulate the feeling that it is actually anchored.

Any tips for installing the arm-lock grip? I bought one and am wanting to blow it on but have not installed a grip without the traditional tape and solvent slide on method. Can I put this on with masking tape? No tape? Do I need solvent? Really appreciate any tips from those who have done this before I screw up a $30 grip!
