Titleist 917F2 and 917F3 Fairway Woods: In-hand photos

Recommended Posts

You guys are idiots. GC2 without HMT on only measures the BALL. If he cold topped one that dribbled 15 yards, it would say swing speed 10 mph ball speed 14.5 mph smash 1.45. That smash is fixed no matter what.

I think I said that already...well not the ****** comment about us being idiots for posting fact-based responses....

You guys aren't getting it lol.

He had HMT when he did his review on the 917 and didn't when he did the M2....that's the point.....

OMG, no, you have no point. HMT does NOT change ANYTHING about the results of the shot. It only will tell you speed and smash factor.

The ball was still hit the same way! How is this so hard to understand! I could set the smash factor to 1.9! That isn't going to make it show a 400 yard shot, it's just going to show a different club speed!

Lol. It's kinda funny but refreshing to see MiamiMonkey right for once

Show me something I've said that isn't right? I don't post anything I don't know for sure isn't correct

You've been corrected more times than I can count now about MOI and forgiveness relating to current drivers, yet you keep on spreading disinformation on this site. It's now become blatant at this point, and is especially egregious since you do not even own any of the drivers that you keep going on about

I actually have not but would love to see an example if you think so

About 30 yards behind what he hit the M2

I would like to see him post a head to head, since he started his swing change he seems to be hitting everything shorter.

I hit the 16.5 and 15 degree 917f2 today. Shafts were the x flex white 80x and the fuji 84x, not sure I have those shafts exactly right, but I will say that the head has a new sound and feel. I really liked it. I was not on trackman or anything, just a range. But the fairways are really nice imo. I will get one I am sure. The 16.5 for me was more like a 4 wood for me. It went noticeably higher than the 15. The 15 was a better option for me for tee and turf. Definitely a must try for all.....

The 16.5 IS a 4 wood.

They just stopped naming it 4, since 4 woods don't sell (I think a Titleist rep said it in a Crossfield 915 F review or somewhere)

it has a 43 inch shaft so loft is the only difference but you can call it what you want

Going with a 917F3 15*...primarily use a 3wood off the tee on tight par 4's. Tried it with the Diamana Ltd. 80x and it was an absolute cannon. Really like the look, sound and feel. Oh - distance was great as well. Trackman averages showed carry of 267 and total of 284...with a swing speed of 109mph.

Did you try the f2? Thoughts?

Anyone try the diamana ltd blue s+ 80 TX shaft?

I did try the F2, and if I was using it off the deck more, I'd probably gravitate towards the F2 and it's shallow profile. However, I like the more compact look of the F3 and the lower ballflight it produces.

915FD users. Is the F3 as deep as FD, shallower or deeper, or same?

Thanks can't seem to find this answer anywhere!!!

i dont think it is as deep as the old 910FD is used. for my the new f3 set to 15.75* with the fuji speeder 84 is highly playable of the turf. so much easier than my 910FD with rip 80 in it. now off of the tee the FD was easier to hit but this club off the turf was 50/50 for me.

has anyone with a "normal" swingspeed (driver 95-98) tried different shafts in the 917f2? i just got one as a present with a fujikura speeder pro shaft in it. i had to check the titleist webiste. 89 grams seems quiet heavy for me and my SS. did anyone with a similar SS tried the diamana blue 70 or the red 60? i also would have the option to go with the orange ad-di.

what do you guys think?

I have your swingspeed and three wood. I use the Diamana Blue from the 915. Like that shaft better than the ltd it came with. I used that shaft in the 915 three wood too and it works great in the 917. For me, the red would be too light and maybe whippy.

I have your swing speed and played the rip alpha 70 stiff in the 915fd, after all the testing and fitting I will stay in that shaft in the 917f2 but the rogue 70 stiff was close
