Adam Scott's New Putter

What is he putting with I didn't have time to get a look at it?

My thoughts exactly...nice Zebra putter with a Cameron stamp. You know I never jumped on the bandwagon that bashed Cameron for xeroxing...but this one made me shake my head a little...

I only watched a bit of the Sony today, but I did notice Adam's new putter. He has almost always used a Newport Midslant, so I was surprised when I saw him gaming a mallet. I paused it on TiVo and took a couple pictures. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. Here it is.

I gotta give the guy credit. He's found a way to make a great living by just copying what everyone has already created and stamping it "Cameron". He's a marketing genius. People pay a fortune for a $5 headcover, pay outrageous sums of $$$ for pimped out Pings, TP Mills, Zebras, you name it.

Scotty remade the Zebra YEARS ago. He issued some production run made ones at the Collector show a couple years back. They were goldish with the black bottom.

 

I have a good friend (ex tour player) with one of the few handmade ones--silver top with black lines just like a zebra. Silver plate on bottom with some handstamping ("Scotty Cameron", "prototype", etc.), a crown, the dog, and a couple other things. I'll see if I can get a pic or two...

I believe that it was the caliente, that has been out for years ('95-'96 ish).

It appears to be a Red X/Caliente combination that ends up being much like the Zebra.

I believe there was a "heads up" about this putter switch over at Cameron Collector.

 

Long story short, it's Coupe from Table Rock Golf (Jim Butler). I believe it was one of only 2 left over from last year's International Cameron Convention.
