Watch it come together!
I ordered a custom Sunset Beach putter and asked the guys to send me some in progress pics as they go so I could watch it come together. I enjoy watching things progress from start to finish like this and figured some of you would too so I'm going to post pics as I get them. Should be pretty cool.

The putter is their Ocean Isle model. It comes standard with a plumbers neck. What I've asked them to do is remove the plumbers and replace it with a round double bend neck. This is the first time they've done this to this model putter so it should be fun to see how it comes out. I haven't decided on a finish yet, chances are I'll go with a polymer like I have on my Yaupon (there's pics of that posted in the putter forum here too). Here's the pics I have so far.

A few more pics for you guys. The first two were the first attempt at the neck, the toe hang didn't come out quite right though. The second set is right about face balanced. Take a look and let me know what you think so far!

That looks great! Are you leaving the holes in the neck or are you welding them up? Just wondering if they will hold moisture...

    Very exciting project!

The plan is to leave them there and go with one of the polymer finishes Sunset Beach offers. Haven't decided on which one yet. There is a new one that looks like brushed stainless that looks really nice, kind of leaning that way. The durability of stainless but the feel of carbon, can't go wrong!

Pretty sure it's just the angle of the pic. Maybe the macro setting was off?

Sorry, I forgot I hadn't posted that. I requested a specific weight and with that hosel it was coming in too heavy. The face was remilled to get it to the weight I wanted.

    Brian,

Is that a stainless putter or some kind of plating to look like stainless?

    Looks great!

Hey Josh, it's a polymer coating that looks like brushed stainless. It's actually a carbon putter. The polymer is nice, you still have the feel of carbon but it gives you the durability of stainless. I have it on another putter and really like it. It doesn't affect feel at all!
