Going to pull the shaft and grip...what shaft is a good putter shaft?
Alright, so I told myself that it was time to stop buying clubs but I found a deal that I may not be able to refuse. Apparently Golf Galaxy is selling all their used clubs for much cheaper from now on. I found a Cameron Circa 62 #3 1st of 500. The club still has most of the stickers that are on it when it's new and appears to have maybe putted a few balls on carpet. It is basically brand new. I was wondering if anyone is using one or has used one. I have a Studio Stainless right now and was wondering how it may compare to that. Any info would be helpful. I will probably end up buying it anyways because, get this, its only 115 bucks! Thanks in advance for the help!

I've gamed a Circa 3 for a little under a year. I like it but I don't love it. It's definitely softer than a stainless SC and I like both the look of the Charcoal Mist finish and the feel of the carbon. That said, I think that it's too light and it doesn't help that I cut mine down 3/4 of an inch to get it to my preferred lenght. This changed the balancing a little, but not a ton. I just prefer a little heavier head. My only other complaint is that I've found the sweetspot to be very small with a notable drop in distance when the sweetspot is missed. I think that's why I don't like it as much as I think I'm going to. When I'm hitting it good and putting well I like my Circa, but when I'm grinding I haven't felt as comfortable with it.

That said, you're deal is a steal and you may find that you love it. I think in the end I prefer a Newport/Anser style head and the Circa's lines are a little more like a Newport2/Anser2, IMO.

Cheers,

Ben

I use the #2, they are fairly similar. The Look is different from the putter you are using now obviously and it takes a little bit of time to get used to. I personally like the feel of the circa better, its really soft but not too soft, its a solid feel. You might as well pick it up, You might find out you really like it, just keep it maintained, the finish is delicate. If it does rust you can gun blue it yourself to touch it up

I have one with the gun blue and unfortunately i used it on a putting green that had fertilizer. that really sucked. I like it and rolled in alot of putts with it last year. it is a little light, and the gun blue isnt so durable. the looks and feel are nice. it's now my second place putter though, as ive got a new byron morgan.

I've been playing one for a few years now. Great soft feel, crisp feeling and great feedback. I've tried many times to knock the Circa out of the bag but have yet found anything that works as well for me. I have tried the charcoal mist finsh putters but they seem to feel a little different from the gunmetal that I have. The finish on mine is long gone though.

Thanks for all the help! I'm going to pick it up today as it's just one of those deals I can't pass up. The finish is the gun blue finish complete with the stitchback grip and everything. Good lookin putter and I figure that if I don't like it I can always find someone on here that would! Thanks again.

Yeah I picked it up last night and after putting around with it on my carpet I realized that the grip will probably have to go. Has anyone been able to successfully pull one of the stitchback grips off? I'm thinking that I will probably just have the shaft and grip pulled and replace it all. So then my next question would be what is a good putter shaft? I've heard of people using a project x 9 iron shaft. Any help on this would be awesome!
