After months of plowing through equipment reviews on the forums I finally pulled the trigger and was fit for some new sticks at Club Champion. I’ve had them out 6 or 7 times since October and couldn’t be happier. Almost felt guilty giving up my old high school set but the new clubs are MONEY! I prefer when clubs have some “character”, but it’s just a matter of time until these get worn in as well.

 

Driver (9.5° adjusted to 8.0°): Taylormade M2 – Aldila Rogue Tour Limited Edition Silver 125 MSI 60X

 

3-Wood (15.0° bent to 13.5°): Taylormade SLDR S - Aldila Rogue Tour Limited Edition Silver 125 MSI 70X

 

Hybrid (19°): Taylormade M1 – Veylix Rome 988 X-Stiff

 

Irons (4 through PW bent 1° weak): Callaway Apex CF16 – KBS C-Taper X-Stiff

 

Wedges (50°, 56° bent to 55°, 60°): Cleveland RTX-3 Tour Raw V-MG – KBS C-Taper S+

Beautiful setup! I too am curious as to how you decided on the SLDR S fairway over some of the newer and popular 3W that I'm sure you tested at Club Champion (M2, XR, Cobra, etc.)

Thanks man. So far so good. I was dead set on switching to Vokeys when I showed up for my fitting but ended up sticking with the Clevelands. The CG shift isn't drastic, but for a guy who tends to miss towards the toe it's noticeable and appreciated. The tour raw finish looks nice too, even pre-rusting.

Thanks guys. I wanted to try a 3-wood in the bag for the season before being fit this fall, so I ended up snagging one online for $50 and figured I'd replace it with something newer in the fitting. Hit it great all season and it was the clear winner when I went in for my fitting as well (tried out the M1, M2, XR, Ping G, Tour Edge Exotics, etc.). May have just been used to it after playing with it all summer, but it was just as long and forgiving as anything else I tried. Its probably my favorite club in my bag now.

 

I feel like most golfers end up with that one oddball club in their set that they keep forever because it just clicks with them...thinking this may be mine.
