Tomorrow looks like a great golf.

I threw my back out 10 days ago while working out and I haven't tried to play since but I might give it a go tomorrow. The weather looks awesome and my dad wants to treat me to a round for my birthday :)

it's hard to take it easy when you play a round of golf, I mean maybe to go 3/4 power. But sometimes a better game arises because are tempo gets much smoother at 75% say.

The problem with a day like today is that everyone decides to skip out early and play. Give me a cloudy 50 degree day any time. Keeps the riff raff off the course. ;)

it was more crowded today at the local course then it has been in the middle of the summer! It was nice to be out though I paired up with a really Pleasant individual we had a good time chatting the whole way through made a few pars and bogie's enjoyed the day. It was really crowded though.

I didn't make it out to the course until around 3:30 and it wasn't too busy. I was able to scoot around and get 15 holes in. My dad showed up around 4 and he got 12 holes in.

I'm hoping to play again this year, but we signed up late and are currently on a waiting list.

Maybe we'll end up doing no pin if big cup doesn't work out.

I played 18 holes today and weather wasn't bad at all. It was starting to approach 55 to 60 degrees and some sunshine. Strange thing though there was literally only two other groups on the course when we started. We never had to wait on another group at all, in fact we rarely seen anybody else. We played in 2.5 hours at a casual pace. It was a great day on the course.

We got about 25 holes in today at Marsh Oaks GC. Pretty good conditions for this time of year only only problem was were some bunkers unraked and soggy. Weather was fantastic days are getting pretty short though especially after tonight when we fall back in time.

I had a blast as usual at big cup yesterday. We shot -19 and I had two chip-ins for eagle. We ended up one shot out of the playoff but took 2nd in our division (Estates/Links), which was good for $132 per person. We also won a skin that paid $100 per person.

The most important thing was that I was able to swing without any back pain and I woke up this morning without any additional soreness :)

Yeah they sure did. It included an ace on hole #26

Starting to be a bit more like November: frost in the mornings, no water jugs, people ignore raking the bunkers, etc... As I walk the courses I am struck by how healthy the turf looks, no burned out areas, just a sea of green for the most part. The low sun really makes green imperfections stand out. Unrepaired pitch marks and the traces of aeration make some greens look like the surface of the moon.

A fair number of courses remain open but many are closing for the season. I bargain hunt and play over-priced courses I don't ordinarily play in mid-season (e.g. Stonebridge).

Despite the bargains and lack of crowds, this time of year is always a bit melancholy. While next week looks good, the first snow and sub-freezing day can't be too far off.

I played Marysville yesterday and the greens were unbelievably good. Lost a couple balls in the leaves just off the fairway and that was annoying but overall it was a fun day with some new clubs and it was only $12

Dislike this post! Hoping to play for another month. Washtenaw is in good shape you should check it out.

You were 100% correct. Greens were very quick and the balance of the course was in fine shape. The bunkers were perfectly raked but, oddly, all the rakes had been taken in. I am pretty good at "foot smoothing" but I have to think a few of the bunkers are going to be churned up a bit. I think the sign in the pro shop said they were closing 11/27/2016 but I may not have recalled that correctly. At $25 for 18 and a cart, it was a steal.

Today we were at Stonebridge in Ann Arbor. Really pleasant weather for our 10am start.

The course was in very nice shape except the greens were a bit shaggy, bumpy and very firm. Hard to hold the green and very hard to get the ball to the hole and/or keep a good line. It was a bit disappointing after playing on some smooth quick greens yesterday.

Naturally the predicted great weather had the place packed to the rafters. Fortunately we got out early enough to not get too bogged down. I pity anyone wanting to play 18 and teeing off after Noon.

met a friend at X-Golf in Novi. Its a new simulator facility in Fountain Walk Plaza. Gotta say it was pretty good feedback. The 2 of us played 27 holes in 2 hours. Putting was still very simulator-y but prob the most repeatable/consistent i have seen in the area. like most sims ive played at they always seem to be juiced by a club (i hit 4i when i would usually hit 3Hy)... but easy to adjust to

all in all a enojyable experience, pricing was competitive with others in the area... recommend others to check it out
