Where do I start? Well I guess when I received the notification that I was selected. I was shocked. Truly. I didn't think someone in their 60s would get the nod. However, our group ended up being very eclectic age wise: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60.

......

Best regards,

Sean

great write up. Being another over 60 player I found your comments and in sites very interesting

Sorry guys, just a tad frustrated by this thread. To much silly talk and not enough photos, specs, stats, gains, losses, photos and photos and did I mention photos of all the new stuff.

I feel like this is a high school first date. Stop teasing and start pleasing.

Can't rely on the fellows to know who is talking to them unless they quote them.

However... I adjusted my post.

Thanks man.

I take out the "Meat" of the post in the middle, but leave the quotes, then the link back etc. works.

I was ecstatic that i made a birdie at Torrey (second hole). And played pretty OK on the front considering i hadn't played an outdoor round in a month (i was 39 on the front i think). The back was tougher

Matt was having difficulty remembering which holes he didn't birdie.

Total length from tees you guys played?

Jeff can chime in with meters.

I think it was 6600 - 6700 yds but played like it was 9,000,000 yds.

That's like 12 meters I think.

Perfect. It's been confirmed!

#TheWRX: Christmas Comes Early at Callaway Golf

....

....

....

To finish, I just want to thank Callaway and GolfWRX. This was an experience I’ll never forget, I’ll I’m eternally grateful. I hope we all stay in touch as we continue playing this crazy game.

Great overview of your time with Callaway. Really enjoyed reading about the club fitting experience!

I'm taking a couple of big things out of Q's write up...

First, Callaway was licking their chops knowing they were fitting a good player with speed using a Ping G30 with a stock shaft. Regardless if it was fit at Ping - the fitting process wouldn't touch the extensive/details they would put him through.

Second, Callaway fit him right. They didn't chase yards - they fit to the miss. One of the easiest way to tighten up dispersion pattern is going shorter, heavier and stiffer (for a strong player). Callaway attacked all three. Pairing this with a head that provided the appropriate spin (in his case a head that would spin). The Tensei is a top notch shaft/line - the CK PRO BLUE might as well have been made for Q.

Third, JAILBREAK is legitimate. When you go shorter, heavier and stiffer you lose swing speed, and for your quality player ball speed (because they are already hitting it on the screws - higher handicappers can benefit and see ball speeds increase on average if shortening aids in center face contact). Callaway's new technology appears to have made up the loss and increased his ball speed. If they gave him the same driver .75" longer like his Ping with the 60g CK PRO BLUE - imagine the gains...wow!

Finally, gear/equipment aside - the level of fitting provided should not be overlooked. When you have a great fitter with incredible equipment and product knowledge (great example is the hybrid fitting - an older model would eliminate left more than the current model - I loved this...).

I will for certain be giving the CALLAWAY 2017 "LOW SPIN" DRIVER a go...I play my drivers at 44.5" - .75", D4-6 with 75-80g TX tipped 1". I'm looking for control not distance (already have speed) - yet don't hit "forgiving" heads well. If I can gain ball speed at my playing length, I will be just fine with green on the crown.

Appreciate the detailed write up Q!

Looks like I picked a bad week to quit sniffing glue .. I mean being able to go to Cali

You had me at:

- long drive contest

- scotch

- crab legs

- Torrey

Disappointed there aren't any hot tub pics with you 8 lucky lads and some lady golfers

I need a 3w as long as my x2 hot 3 deep but easier off the deck ! And a wedge like the Arnie one shown ... but with my school logo and colours

Cally aging more space in the bag ... will look at a 50-56-62 combo this Spring

We're Toulon putters an option?

There were 3-4 Toulon putters in the fitting room. I'm not sure if anyone rolled them or not, I didn't.

Having a Canadian there was weird. Here is a list of why:

-I had to ask them to take me off the group text because it would've cost me like 500$ due to my Canadian plan

-All week guys were giving me temperatures in Fahrenheit and i constantly thought it was warmer then it was

-I used the metric system constantly

-At least one member texted someone there to ask if i pronounce O's funny and say "eh" a lot (which i do)

One good thing about growing up in NB and having so many US relatives, I learned how to convert to/from imperial and metric quite quickly. Though, surprisingly, "eh" only gets used when trying to make a point :)

I'm intrigued to hear more about this R-Line. I like the shape and look of the V-Line, and I think I've seen some tour issued Mini V-Lines, so is this R-Line coming to retail? And it's probably a safe bet this is with an O-Works insert as well...sounds like a solid flat stick!

Great job on the write up, everyone so far. Q, 70 is a hell of a round at a course you've never played with clubs you've never touched. Hopefully '17 has some good things in store for you! I'm honestly kinda pissed at you though knowing you only picked up golf 6 years ago. You were that kid growing up who was just naturally good at everything, weren't you? WEREN'T YOU?

great read. So you have only been playing 6 years? That's very impressive to get to the level of player you appear to be. Did you play when you were young and pick it back 6 years ago or start from scratch? Did you come from a different sport that made it easier to get good quicker.
