J15 and c tapers are match made in heaven. At least for me. High ball hitter and spin a bit much. Have them in S+ flex c tapers. I would say the stiff would be good to bring down your flight and spin a bit. Tapers usually run a little stouter.

I plan on playing my J15 CB's again this season...played them this past season and was really starting to dial them in by the time the cold weather started. I've got PXi 6.5 shafts in mine and it took some getting used to that I should be aiming straight with this combo. It's gonna be a looong off season..I constantly stare at my clubs wishing it was Spring

For those that still play the j15mb 4-p. did you order the 3iron or opted to go hybrid, or tmb, etc.?

Purchased a set of j15 cb from Jay w2h ( great transaction by the way). Love the irons - everything I expected and more. The iron are shafted with the KBS Tour FLT in stiff flex. I usually keep it in the high 70's to low 80's, 7 iron around 155 yds. I feel these shafts get the ball up really high and they seem too balloon a bit with a lot of draw. Am contemplating switching out to KBS c tapers. Can anyone provide any insight if this would possonly straighten/ lower ball flight out and would a stiff flex in c-tapers be sufficient? Thanks.

You might want to try Modus 120 shafts. Ctapers are a little stout. My 7 iron distance is around 165 and think they are pushing me. But I certainly know everyone's swing is different,

Still loving my DPF with stock DG Pro shaft. Had to re-shaft the 6-iron after hitting a root, and got all the lofts corrected (most had bent a bit).

The only other iron that has my eye is the Wilson FG line. I plan to wait until the next Bridgestone release and testing via TestDrive before making any move.

Was going to suggest the same thing. I actually found the CTapers to be alittle better for feel, but the Modus 120 loaded better. My issue is high flight and too much spin - they performed about the same for me. Both are great shafts.

I was afraid someone might say how sweet it is. Really tempted to get the 3 iron but I don't use it much. Bridgestone stopped selling it but 2nd swing does but not in the shaft I want. Did the gapping from 3iron to 4iron mesh for you or did you have to adjust the lofts?

I kept the lofts std on my set. I used the 3 more off the tee, the 4 more for fairways. Worked well for me.

I love the 3 iron, I got mine new from golfio for under $90 during black friday...did take about 10 days to arrive and is only available with s300 shaft; I play x100 in my set, ended up going to pga ss and reshafting for under $40

Thankyou for telling me about golfio. it was cheaper than 2nd swing but I ended up just going 1 degree strong throughout the set and put back in the 19 degree j33. had to go 2 degrees strong in the wedges but glad cause i hated the bounce on the j15 56. after having it bent i had it grinded a bit to reduce even more of the bounce it plays about 8 degrees of bounce.

they were used but in excellent condition from bst here. I should have added they were heads only but still a great price.

you just have to be patient and lucky. one of the members here sold his 3-pw j15mb set with modus 120-x for 375 shipped about two months ago. I missed out on them. there are some sets on the bst for around 400. maybe you can pm with an offer.

I like the 3 iron a lot also. I have the CB in a 3 iron as well as the DF in the 3 iron. The DF is a little hotter off the face. Great driving iron or the fairway, it's kind of smallish though (the DF).

Oh wow didn't know it was that cheap now on the bay. U will not be disappointed. They really did a great job with theses blades. The grind is great on these and the feel is great. Even Mishits are not penalized that much

While I've been delaying hoping to change my mind...I think my mb's will be going on BST next week. After 4 years away, I just don't fit the DG X100 shaft any longer. As much i love the look and feel, I couldnt keep my ball flight down. My last few rounds of the season I traded back with a buddy for a set of 2013 x forged i never should have let go with Modus 130's, and got much more of the flight I was looking for. Seem to be much better for me than the TI X100.

Still not 100% sure, may reshaft them...but I do hit the 13 x forged pretty well.

I have been torn or tormented if you ask my wife. I can't decide on which set to play. Iblades, Mp25's, or J15's. Whenever I hit all three in my yard, all three win out. The difference is just the shafts. That was until today. I played 9 holes with my J15's and Iblades. I was the only one out so I hit about 4 balls each on every hole. The J15's won my little competition. It was very close and really why the J15's won was because I came within 1/2 inch of a hole in one.

The Modus 120 shafts really need a smooth swing. When I do this, they win every hole. Unfortunately I can swing quick and hard. This is where the Steelfibers in the Iblades win. So now I am questioning if I should try the Steelfibers in the J15's. See why my wife just shakes her head at me whenever I talk about my round?

Does anyone have a set of J15's with Steelfibers? Or has anyone compared the Modus 120 shafts vs Steelfibers in the J15's?

    Thanks

I have played the j15's mb and cb with steel fiber 110's. Great combo, really works well. The 95s can handle a little aggression as well as a smooth swing, I think the 110 launch a little lower and like a little more aggressive swing. I have also used the 110 in my fourteens and s55's. Go for it travis, it is just an experiment, and I'm sure it won't take long to figure out how it works...maybe do one or two clubs at a time. Happy Holidays everyone!

can anyone comment on why the steelfibers would win out when you have a 'quick and hard' swing. i would think steelfibers being lighter in weight would have the opposite effect. modus 120 would be better option for slightly quicker tempos. i have a quick swing. short backswing pretty quick transition and would like to know why the modus work better w smoother swing.

Thw I 110'S feel more stable. The I110s are 110 grams and the Modus 120 shafts are 113. Very little difference. The I110s are stiffer in the butt section giving them the feeling of a stiffer flex shaft.

I have an excellent set of the J15 MB's w/ DG S300, all standard specs, barely used. Not sure if I'm gonna game them this season or dump them on the Bay. I have two sets of J40's that are just the best for me so I don't want to use something else...dilemma!
