I don't know what number we are up to, but maybe getting close? I saw a couple people mention on Monte's multi-purpose thread with clinic info that they'd sent in a deposit for Denver?

 

I told my brother (who is 15) that if the stories start getting too good, we will send him into the clubhouse. :D

Yes. I was there in both 2017 and this year. Will do it again in 2019 as long as there are enough people .

I’ve attended the last two years and just registered the other day for the 2019 clinic that was just announced.

 

I’ve taken lessons when I was younger with pros at the local muni. I have learned more from Monte about the golf swing and what my intentions should be in the last two years than I had in my entire life.

 

Regarding the clinic vs private lessons. I love the clinic format and think the clinics fit well with Monte’s teaching style. There’s plenty of one on one time, so you’ll get individual attention on your own swing faults. But there’s a lot of value in hearing advice given to other people, and questions others bring up. It’s also just a lot of fun to meet other local folks.

 

The best thing I’ve learned in the past couple of years is really disabusing myself of some horrible misunderstandings of what “should” be happening in the golf swing. I really understand know what I am trying to accomplish and can self diagnose what I’m feeling and doing. I’m no longer confused at “why did the ball go that way?”

 

Regarding “lasting” changes, before meeting Monte i was around a 17-18 hcp. I finished last year at 13. I feel like I’m right on the precipice I’d making another big move. I’ve really been hitting the ball better this year, and improved fairways and greens hit. I have a lot of work to do to get my putting in better shape and need to get rid of stupid big numbers. A great round for me is 80-81, and a typical round is 84-87. I’m always good for 3-4 three putts a round and one or two 7-8’s on the scorecard that just blow up a round.
