Refinish Options?

Cameron Mil-Spec
I came across a beat up mil-spec today. Still putts fine, but very beat up. Topline dings are the main problem. I've sent putters to Cameron before and they did an excellent job, but very costly. Also the one I sent to Cameron was already in good condition. This one needs work. Lots of work.

I've also sent a Cameron to Slighter in the past. Again, it wasn't bad to start with.

I want it done right. I'm picky. I'd rather spend $100 to make it look perfect than spend $40 to make it look "pretty good".

So.....who's the best? Cameron custom shop? Someone else?

try BOS i heard they do a great job, Never done it before but i have seen pictures and they look great, OR have some fun and do it yourself, it has turned into quiet an addiction of mine actually haha

Yeah, i've seen some pics from BOS, but I thought they mainly just applied finishes? I'm probably wrong, but for some reason I didn't think they reworked damaged heads? I thought they just applied finishes?

I don't have the patience (or skill) to do it myself. Plus I plan on selling the mil-spec afterwards. I want it to look good so it will sell.

Thanks for your help.

I have had Colbert do some work on a Del Mar 3 and he does very nice work, at least for me. He took care of the dings, etc.

I am in the same situation as you, just picked up a Mil Spec that isn't in great shape. It is the 350G putter which seems to be more desirable for resale. Right now I am leaning towards sending it back to Cameron and biting the cost bullet. I have had Cameron do another Mil Spec when the restoration price was around $110 rather than $145. I also had them do some custom work as far as paint fill, custom stamp, COA, etc. I spent around $200 if I remember correcly. They did a great job. Now if I knew someone that wanted one with pink and black paint fill, pink grip, and a pink custom shop headcover, lol,

I have a 33/350 milspec in my bag right now. I just got lucky on the one I found yesterday. It's a 34/340. I didn't know cameron was 145 now? Looks like I need to go somewhere else, but I would love to make it look like it did when it was new. Cameron does a great job.

Based on your sig maybe you should be putting with a 2-ball rather than a Mil Spec. I have a couple of virtually new 2-Balls (blade and CS) that I might consider trading for your Mil Spec's if you twist my arm. There would then be no need for a threejack signature.

I used a dfx 2ball for a long time and the way I am putting I might go back to it. :black eye:

I got it out of the garage last night and I'm thinking about trying it again.

The 34/340 milspec will be sold. I'll probably hold on to the 33/350? I have an Odyssey black#1 that I like also, so who knows......I might sell 2 mil-specs?
