Nike RZN stockpiling worth it?

Found a good deal at a Van's golf shop. Had the olympic rzn platinum sleeves for $4, $16 for a dozen. Most stores still have the regular balls priced at $40 though. Don't know why.

That's a great score. Wanted to pick up a sleeve or two of those Olympic balls, but never got around to it. For that price though, would have just cleaned out the store anyway. That was even cheaper than what Nike had them for on their site, but they are definitely all gone now. Snag a bunch and sell them on eBay!

Academy has the Black RZN for cheap

I bought a dozen of these a while back for $20 from academy (just played with them today) and I honestly thought that this was the worst premium ball I had ever played. Felt like a total rock and the sound off the club face was totally foreign to what I was used to.

those appear to be the older ones. the 2016 tour black is different i believe.

PGATSS has RZN Tour Platinums and RZN Tour Blacks on clearance for $19.97/dozen. They may be marked at normal price, but they will ring up at the clearance price once you bring them to the register. Combined with a $20 off $75 purchase coupon, I was able to get 4 dozen for $65 after taxes. Coupon below, expires 1/31:

I just ordered another 6 doz. from golfdiscount.com, to make it a grand total of 18 doz. for the ole self funded Nike Golf ball sponsorship personal inventory...

Math

Assumption A: Use average of 2 balls per round per year.

Assumption B: I have 216 balls.

-30 rounds annual x 2 balls per round = 60 balls per year (5 doz per annual)

-60 balls per annual divided by 216 balls = 3.6 years LOL

This will be enough to get me into the next tech I am sure...PLZ don't post a deal better than $29 for these balls PLZ PLZ PLZ

Them running out was a good thing for me. I have 8+ dozen of this years black/platinum and 2 dozen of last years blacks. I find so many premium lost golf balls (pro v's mostly) that I very rarely dip into my new stockpile. I would've bought 2-3 dozen and probably still had 8 dozen stockpiled 5 years from now.

So my restraint didn't last long. Found the Olympic tins for $3.99 each at an Edwin Watts in Nashville so I bought some. At least I only bought 3 dozen, there's quite a few left.

Got a dozen rzn platinums>2016 and they feel(rocks) like last year's rzn blacks>2015 imo. Guess nike balls just don't suit me to well but the tech is pretty neat.

That's just you. These TP's from '16 are soft: 74 compression. I found them a hair softer than the B330S, and definitely the RZN balls from '15. Great tech in them for sure.

I wonder why Nike made these Olympic balls and never released them. They announced they were out of equipment right before the Olympics, but I would have thought they would have released them months before the Olympics. I wonder if all the dented tins are part of the story.

Maybe bc nobody from Team USA was playing Nike. Makes me wonder if there's a huge stash of these overseas with a different logo, made under the assumption that Rory was going to play. Whatever the reason - fine with me, as they resulted in a bunch of inexpensive, quality balls!

Seems unlikely they went through all that trouble to scrap it cause Finau didn't qualify.

Perhaps they were hoping for Tiger, Koepka, Wie?

I play both the B330S and RZN TP. Cleaned out some of the local stores of all the last TP stock and managed to get good deals on all - about 30 dozen stashed.

I see you also like to play the B330S and that brings me to this question do you foresee yourself actually playing at least half of those 30 dozen if not what would be your plans with your stockpile of RZNs?

Also about how long would it take you to go through them all being that you play separate brands?

I actually unloaded all the B330S's that I had, and am sticking just with the RZN TP. They'll probably be a lifetime supply for me since I don't anticipate any miracle ball coming out that would change my opinion as to how fantastic these are.

correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't nike the official team usa outfitter for the olympics? if so, then undoubtedly they made other odds and ends (like rzn tp golf balls) that have the usa and nike/swoosh on it.
