Putter length

My question is that if I cut it down to say 34 which would be 2 inches off it,would I totally screw it up as far as swingweight as said before or will I even notice it because I am not used to using it now

 

i had my first putter cut to 33" from a 35". The guy that worked on my putter said he added some weight in the grip to make the overall putter the same as before...

 

I own a cameron newport 2 studio select now at 33" and i believe the weights on the sole are heavier than what is in the 35" model..

I have been using a 31" putter for the last 6 years and it is the greatest thing. At 5'10" I do like my arms hanging straight down while putting. My average putts per round is around 31.

 

I have cut the putters of several friends to 32-23" and they all love it, most of them were holding the putter below the grip.

 

Several months ago I was looking at a woman's 32" putter and posted a question here if it was OK for a guy to use a woman's putter? One of the replies said "that he would putt with a tampon as long as the ball went in the hole".

 

The issue is not how you look or how long the stick is the important thing is that you feel comfortable and the ball goes in the hole.

Well I had it cut down 2 inches and can not for the life of me tell a bit of difference,of course I have not used this putter in a round yet only in my livingroom.So we will see what happens
