I have the 565 irons and the 545 irons. I think both sets are awesome however I like the soles on the 565 irons better. As a sweeper and picker the less wide sole on 565 works. Probably will sell the 545s. I would like to try 765 because I would like a slightly lower ball flight and would be curious to see if 565 are that much more forgiving

A little touch of heel relief, a bit less overall bounce, a bit more trailing edge relief and bit more toe weighting. Those are the tiny design tweaks I've heard of. Tiny things. The big difference, and to me it's going to be the dealbreaker, is the stock DG Gold in the 545's. I'm very interested in trying some of the new lighter steel shafts and the stock Nippons in the newer incarnation would, for me, make the newer ones much more worthy of my interest.

got my hands on a set of 565 with Nippon modus 3 105s from the BST. got to hit them (indoors) for the first time this evening. the shafts are about 10g lighter than my previous dg pro, and stiffer, so it's going to take a little bit of adjustment to get used to them. I was seeing about a half club to a club more distance with the srixons, but I'm sure that's due to the lofting. still got about the same height though.

I'm kind of a tweener between reg and stiff shafts so we will see if the Nippon stick around or if I find some DG pro r300 pulls, which I have in my other set. I did notice that after a couple of hours in the garage hitting off the mat, my elbow is a little sore. could be the stiff vs reg shafts

I just put mine up on BST. I loved these, but I kept pulling out my playing partner's (father in law) G30 4&5 irons with graphite shafts, and they're quite a bit easier to launch (maybe the graphite shafts). In the 7-PW, I found the Z565 quite easy to hit and long. Awesome irons, but I'm a 20 capper who's weakness is iron play, lol...

I was going to order the 565 with Modus 105's, but ended up hitting the Mizuno HM's with the 105's. They were very close, but I went with the Mizuno HM's. If they don't work out! I will be getting the 565. They're a great looking iron and just so easy to hit.

I'd have to think that some of that is due to the Modus3 Tour 105s shafts, both my z945's and z745's have these in them. The Modus3 Tour 105s, are a joy to hit, considering I gamed XTD Forged with UST Recoil Prototype 95g F5's for the last 2.5 seasons, I was shocked to find something I liked better. Some what surprised that I think the z945's will be in the bag this season and the z745's will be sold off. Really can't go wrong with either option, I just like the looks and feel of the z945's better.

I go down at the ball, so the extra sole helps me. I came from Ping I5's with ZZ65 (108 gr), so the 105's just fit well.

Can anyone shed light on the stock Nippon 980gh dst. Shaft?

I have them in my z 545. I tested them against the modus 105s (upcharge in 545) and in the end I was a little more consistent and got a bit more height and spin from the 980 gh. Which was what I was after in the first place. Feel was very nice in the 105 though

Is it wrong for a grown man to fall head over heals in love with a golf club?

no its normal on wrx. i hit the 765 and 565 yesterday and i still cant believe how good they are, they feel awesome, look great and are very forgiving. not even close, best irons i ever hit and i have hit everything.

my only problem is what set or combo to get, the 565 is so forgiving and still looks good and gets up in the air why would i get a 765

What initially got my attention from the 565 and later 545,was that this was perhaps the first club with a sole wide enough to be potentially high-launching and forgiving enough for me, yet looking as good to my eye as a blade. To me it's been only these If I'm honest, I can't recall another iron that looks that good and looks like it might even launch high enough for a an old gunny flogger like me. The only sets that weren't the full 1300 buckaroos, was a couple of sets of 545's, one with stiff and the other regular, in DG. Dynamic Gold is dog doo for me, now. R300's once felt like they had the perfect amount of whip for a good long time. This was back when my 8 iron carried one five O. Now my seven flies 138. This year, I try the Gmax to see what I'm missing before my swing speed gets so low, I have to order really weird looking clubs from Ralph Maltby. Really, the only way you would know they were irons at all would be the fact that they didn't have headcovers. I hope he names his names his next iron, the MPF 406. First 460 cc iron. Sole until tomorrow, face like a welder's bench. I can see it now...Pretty is a pretty does. They laugh at a man who plays clubs that look like flat-faced bananas with toboggan soles but they stop laughing when he snatches their beer money. Maltby's flat faced bananas FTW. Just kidding, those things are the real shovels. Ralph has got the most junk in the trunk, as it were and they do look like clown shoes. I guess that's where I draw the line; my clubs cannot look like clown shoes or flattened bananas.

To my eye, Mizuno is the other player who's making really pretty GI or SGI. I guess I'd have to fit Ping in there, too. These are the ones that have figured out that when it comes to appearance, less is so often more. Just because my clubs have substantially wide walls, doesn't mean you have to fill them in with blinking lights and graffiti. Just build a bigger Japanese rock garden. Even the biggest clubs have no room for gaudy.

FYI for those interested, I just placed an order for 565s and was told the heads and shafts (project x lz) are back ordered until around 2/20. I hope to get my new sticks by 3/1.
