Super Stroke Pistol GTR coming to retail

Recommended Posts

Not sure I have seen this anywhere yet, but I found online today where Super Stroke is going to be releasing the Pistol models in a non-counterbalanced version to the public. I for one am looking forward to this as I never cared for counterbalanced putters and I hated paying the extra $10 when I wasn't even going to use the weight.

Sweet! I originally bought the counter-balanced version just to see what putting with a CB putter was like. Loved the grip style but ripped the counter-balance out after about two rounds.

Counter-balanced putters are not for me ...

For me the only good thing about the Counter Balance option was if the greens slow, I would put the CB weight in

I'm pretty interested in this grip, but the specs are kinda weird?

The Tour has the thinnest diameter of 1.00", and weighs 65g

GTR 1.0 is 1.10'' and weighs 83g

GTR 2.0 is 1.20" and weighs 51g

The 1.0 was always the thinnest and weighed the least, but the 2.0 is the largest diameter and weighs the least? Is it possible they are listed wrong, or are these weights correct?

Anyone playing the Tour or 1.0?

same way with the originals- the 1.0 weighed more than the mid slim 2.0

That's what I assumed. So it's just a misprint, and they have all 3 weights messed up on their site then? It should labeled as...

Tour 51g

1.0 65g

2.0 83g

And that's going from diameter vs weight.

I wouldn't necessarily assume it's a misprint because it probably isn't. You just can't correlate diameter with weight for SS grips because they are all over the place (the obvious example being the original SS grips where the slim 1.0 weighs more than the mid slim 2.0, even though the 2.0 has larger diameter)

Not a misprint - Tour and 1.0 have rubber underlistings and 2.0 has foam... Tour is smaller so lighter, 1.0 larger so heavier.

I just put the 1.0 on a Toulon Memphis and it is incredible. Played 9 with it today and now love that it's not foam. Foam grips bases I just don't like it at impact there is no feeling.

I agree, and I actually like the heavier weight on the rubber under-list grips. 80-90ish range is great for modern putter head weights.

Thread revival!

Anyone else trying the Pistol superstroke out? I popped a 1.0 onto my Lajosi the other night, and I'm really liking it. I've never been a fan of the superstrokes, but this one fits much better for me.

used it for awhile in my back up putter which was my gamer. However, switched out for a 2.0 midslim with counterbalance for my new bettinardi queen bee and haven't putted better in years
