This club had the best dispersion and greatest length over all others that I tried including Titleist and TM. I picked up 10 yards on my previous stick and have seen some new places on the course. I have the 9.5 with the 6.0 stiff shaft.

I am a golf newbie and got a Diablo Octane 10.5* with the factory regular flex shaft as a Christmas present. From the first swing, I have been consistently hitting at least 30 yards farther and much straighter than I ever did before. I have tried a couple of other brand drivers with the same, 10.5* and regular flex and they don't even come close. It might not be the best choice for an advanced golfer (I don't know..... yet) but for a novice like me, this club is perfect!!

I recently swapped my Adams 9064 LS 10.5 Stiff for a Octane Black Tour 9.5. All I can so is that this driver as transformed my game. With the Adams I was averaging maybe 4 fairways a round (8 handicap) and now I'm closer to 10 fairways with the Octane. Its also longer which I didn't expect at all. Thank you Callaway!

Just bought a tour 9.5 with an Aldila RIP alpha 70 x in it. This thing is a monster. LOOOOOOOOOOONG low spin setup. Didn't know what I'd been missing till I got it. Still don't understand how these things got so cheap so fast. Not complaining though. Best bang for the buck in a driver head IMO.

I picked up a Diablo Octane 10.5*, R-Flex online from Dick's for $149.99, free shipping. It has the Project X shaft which I believe is the only option.

I decided on the Octane based on reviews here, as well as those on Golfsmith.com, and of course the Golf Digest Hot List. I typically wait 2-3 years or more between driver changes, mostly because I can't justify spending $400 on a club that I know will be half price or less in 18 months. Just for comparison, the driver that the Diablo replaced was a Cleveland Hi-Bore XLS, 10.5* R-Flex with the Aldila shaft. I really liked that club, but based on the reviews I thought the Diablo could give me the precious yards we're all looking for.

By all indications, the Diablo Octane has done just that. Through two rounds now, I've found the Diablo to be 25-40 yards longer than my old driver. That's a big spread, but I played with Titleist Pro-V1's (got them as a birthday gift) during the first round, and with Titleist Velocity yesterday. The combo of the Diablo and the Velocity produced at least 30 yards more distance on average, and in areas where I could get some run-out, sometimes 30 yards. This is HUGE for me, it's the difference between hitting maybe an 8-iron into the green instead of a 4-hybrid. Yesterday I shot my lowest round in over 5 years, an 88.

For a higher-handicap player, this driver is excellent. It flies as straight as an arrow, except on a couple of drives where I really stepped on it (the 4 par-5 holes), in which case I was able to get a little draw! The combo of the Diablo and the Velocity produced a super trajectory, a low shot that steadily rose and than ran out for several more yards.

This is the best driver I've owned in years, and I can't wait to use it again!!

Had it for a month now, I love it. I needed to replace my ft-iq with a driver with a 9.5 and stiff shaft. So I went with this because I hit it at a demo day when it came out, and loved it. Longer then the ft-iq and just as forgiving.

Been playing the Octane for about 1 year now and getting tired of it.

Face is too closed for my liking. Gotta have a good amount of lag at impact or it pulls and hooks.

Other than that, feel and distance is great.

i've got this withe Project X 5.0 shaft cut to 44 inches. At first I really liked how straight i was. But, i've been working on my swing now and am starting to get a number of pulls and hooks which is not my normal shot. I'm usually a fade hitter.

That's exactly why I cant stand this driver anymore. I hit my buddys Taylor Made much better. Face is more square and much easier to aim.
