Epic SZ for me. I tested M1 460, M2, Epic, Epic SZ, JPX, and All Cobra's. Epic SZ with Rogue Maxx 85X was the only stock shaft offering that I could get proper spin and launch with, unless I spent serious $$$ on an upgraded shaft. Got same numbers and a little less distance with M1 460 mated to a GD BB7X, but that shaft was $250 upgrade. Sound and feel was the best with the SZ, but I also liked the looks of the M1.

Of course it only makes sense to vote for drivers you've tried. My 1, 2, 3, was the Titleist 917 D3, Ping G & TM M2.

The 917 D3 is in my bag now and I've found it incredibly long with a recently purchased GD Tour AD MJ 7TX shaft. Feel & accuracy has been a real improvement as well.

I think the competition at the top is very tight and the majority of reasonable golfers (or better) would do well with any of the top sellers.

Good luck sifting through popular opinion golfwrx.

Valid, I wonder how many votes were cast based strictly on hearsay.

Cobra King F7. Why? Because it actually works and helped improve my game. My distance, launch and spin were all improved with this driver. I have one on order and can't wait to put it into play. Tour presence and marketing be damned.

Sorry, did not vote..........have a demo day coming up in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to hit most of the drivers on this list.

I'm pretty sure the best driver of 2017 is going to be my 2016 M2.

The Ping G is going to be overlooked because it's looked at as "game improvement" but this driver is a beast. I liked the LS but it requires a faster swing to get results and in the cold outdoors I just don't have that all the time. I think the G is the perfect blend of performance and forgiveness. Averaged 10 yards carry on Epic, M1/M2, and Cobra LTD (in Oregon where there is no roll we like carry). The only things I didn't like about it was the length of the shaft (46in?) and the sound...that thing is loud!

The ping G series is just too forgiving. The distance is comparable between most models but ping always seems to win out with forgiveness.

I found the Epic (not the SZ) to be just as forgiving as the Ping G. But the Epic is just a really long hitting driver.

Titleist usually has more drivers than callaway on tour. All drivers are good now. I even got good numbers out of the Wilson triton. With that said, m1 gave me 3 mph better ball speed yesterday than epic, and the f7+ was only 1 behind m1. Going to do one more fitting to verify numbers and then order something.

Had a Cool Clubs fitting yesterday.

Did not want the Ping LS etc to be good. Did not even want to try it. Never even hit anything with an Accra shaft before.

I wanted the M1 or Epic - even the Titleist to be great.

But it blew everything away with an Accra Zx475M5 shaft. Longest and better dispersion than the others mentioned.

This proves that the best driver of 2017 is : the one that is fitted to your swing by an skilful fitter :-)

M1 vs Epic

"The Epic Driver is Born"

My thinking is Callaway came out with Epic Driver cus of the Market Share Taylormade has in the Gaming World with Players. That said, Taylormade is Not financially stable, Callaway is Bidding to lower the Cost of Taylormade's Company for an Acquisition to acquire Taylormade at even a lower bid, In addition to Marketing the Epic Drive to push the financial burden onto Taylormade's market share.

Theirs is more Hype with Epic Driver until you use it on a Regular Basis then you'll find out it's Not as Epic as you think.

The Power of Marketing getting players to think if they buy Callaway EPic it will improve your Game and Driving is kinda a push on BS.

Courses we Play are NOT on Monitors and looks great until you play in the Elements of Reality...Colder Weather, Rainy, Hot.....blah blah Blah

Anyone that is a Great Ball Striker, the results can go either way...The M1 vs. Epic results with Drivers & Yardage varies 5 to 10 Yards, sometimes M1 Wins or sometimes Epic...

Results to me are both Drivers are Awesome Drivers... However the Color Green is Catching the Eye with Most People IMO,

That where you're Sold...

The Best of the Best results for you are shown on the Monitor, Easy Sale.

Nature's Elements when it settles into your Bones, it's just another Driver and Expense. Callaway does a Great Job Marketing to those that are not so good players to buy their products and you'll be as good or better using their Product...Hmmmmm

Oh, They all do that as well.

Every company does this. No reason to single out one company...

I'm a believer of the "Look good play good" saying so if more people are buying the Epic maybe in a general consensus the Epic just looks better than the M1.

I have tested a lot of these drivers and for me the Epic SZ was so much better than everything else I wish I could just apply all 3 votes to it.

Since I can't I voted for the M1 because launch and spin were perfect but ball speed was down and the 917 D3 because ball speed was great, launch was good, but spin was too high. On looks the 917 would be my winner all day long.

I got better distance from the Epic SZ on average because of two things. First I hit it more solid, something about how it sets up visually. Secondly, the Epic is more forgiving. My misses with the Epic were much better than with M1.

Can only compare it to my Slider driver, but for me the Epic is at a crazy new level. All these promises over the years of this or that driver will give me that magical 10-20 yards. Got properly fitted for the Epic at the Callaway center at Troon and for the first time ever hitting it 20 yards longer w same crappy swing. Lol

I wish there was a way to vote 'none of the above'.

Not in the sense that none of them are any good, but more that none of them are any different.

I fell for the hype and actually purchased an Epic and a Subzero to compare to my current LTD and previous GBB.

I'm getting older, more decrepit and have a very efficient driver swing anyway.

But after testing on course and with launch monitors, with identical shafts, and shafts supposedly optimised to the drivers, there was no consistent difference in distance or dispersion.

I hit my old GBB well. I hit my LTD well. I hit the Epic well. I hit the Subzero less well due to face angle, but wellish.

Maybe for the big swingers, but not for me.

I wanted to believe, but the numbers just weren't there.

For me it was the Callaway Epic and the TM M2. I went with the Callaway Epic over the M2 just because it came with a somewhat better shaft. Distance numbers and consistency/ accuracy were pretty much identical.

Recently tested Wilson Triton, M1, M2, Epic, SubZero, Cobra Ltd, Ping G to replace my Cleveland Classic Custom and the Wilson had for me the best consistent numbers for my swing so i bought it and it plays great with out having to put a lot of effort into the swing. I do wish it had a little different sound but it's nothing that keeps me from hitting it well and the FEEL is solid. Hands down THE best driver i've hit in a while! The subzero, m2, and cobra ltd were close but not as good. The Ltd Probably had the best Feel but just didn't do as well for me.
